True. Although a team with a legit #1-#2 pair and no goaltending anywhere in sight might swing the deal. Trading from your strengths to address your weeknesses. Etc etc. But yeah, I get your point.

The only guy I currently loathe being on the roster is Samuelsson. I always had a love him hate him thing going on, and that was back when he stayed healthy and produced. A few games come to mind as career highlights: 1. 2008 Game 1 vs Penguins 2. 2007 Game 6 vs Sharks 3. 2009 Game 2 OT vs Hawks But the rest was "arrrGGGGGG!!!!!" Now he can't stay healthy OR produce. I like the rest of the guys (Cleary, Bert, Quincey, Smith, etc) for one reason or another.

It was a physical game for sure. But, unlike most games in the west, there was also little or no puck possesion or defensive structure to speak of. I think Detroit will be OK.

What in flying f*** is going on? Nyquist down Emmerton centering the 4th line on Wednesday Tatar scratched Monster and Tootoo on IR, but not LTIR Man, the only thing exciting is that Oulette's been recalled, but why? None of this makes one pubic hair's worth of sense to me. I feel like I just took Salvia or something.

To be fair, Babcock most certainly played Nyquist instead of Bertuzzi and Samuelson during th playoffs last year. And not just for health reasons. If Nyquist was on the team, instead of GRs, he'd be playing Wednesday. I just don't think Babcock has much love for Tatar. Not yet anyway. Edit: I'd love to see what the lines in practice are looking like for Wednesday's game.

On other news Chuck Pleiness @wingsfrontman It appears Tatar is the odd man out Wednesday. He's been working in and out of the top line with Dastyuk, Zetterberg and Abdelkader. I'm assuming that this thread has become a catch-all for the roster activities taking place between now and Wednesday. In which case, I'm staying on topic here, I hope.

Easy. I said straight up that Emmerton was replaceable. I tell you what I'M tired of. People talking s*** about a player that seems to be on his way out. Yes, Emdog wasn't great, but I was just trying to be positive about some part of his game. I wish him luck.

I think Emmerton's value on the PK is being under appreciated here a bit. He deserves a bit of respect for that. That being said, he's a replaceable. But I'm confused: how would swapping Emmerton with Glendenning relieve the cap and roster squeeze?

Pretty sure Smith will have to play well against top 5 teams for the Wings to be successful. And....wait.....what? Toronto? Top 5 team?

I think playing Smith in the bottom pairing as a #5 or #6 guy (where he actually belongs, for now) will go a looooooong way in seasoning this kid.

Those guys play regular shifts, can actually play hockey, and some of them are vital to the team's success. Give me more Orr's and Parros' plz. More 3 minute, non playoff hockey playing, pugilist gods.

I'm good with this news. Tootoo is useful. Unfortunately, I think this means Nyquist goes to GRs unless Holland has a trade in the works or he's secretly hoping Sammy hurts his boob again.
