Bingo. Carolina with the 5 on 5 edge that period, but the Wings got jobbed a bit by the officials. Didn't like the Abdlekader call on the (already) PK.

Anyone that watched this game would have to be absolutely f***in crazy to suggest Larkin would have been better off in GRs. -

Take Lucic, add about 75 IQ points, remove about 20 punds of fat, and give him a soul and you have Abdlekader: a big, rugged, power forward that can score 20 goals. No need for the "nasty" part.

Hockey starts tonight ya'll. Wut Wut!! It's time for LGWs to make their "standings" predictions. I figure if fools like Scott Burside and Frank Severalli can do it, so can we. East: Atlantic 1 Tampa 2 Detroit 3 Montreal Metro 1 Washington 2 Columbus 3 NYR Wildcards Brooklyn Florida West: Pacific 1 Anaheim 2 San Jose 3 Calgary Central 1 St Louis 2 Minnesota 3 Chicago Wildcards LA Dallas
-
As if. This ain't LGWs if there's no bitchin' about something.
-
He also had the (slightly) better camp.
-
No faith in your boy in Dallas? (I kid)
-
How awesome would that be?

That's fine. There would be no room for him in the top six (basically forever) either. Like I said, Nill ran the Wing's draft so he essentially drafted Janmark. He obviously liked him. That doesn't mean that other GMs did. And Nill wasn't offering Detroit a top 4 defensemen. In fact, no one was, not for a reasonable price. I'd say Nill was doing Holland a favor in that trade, if anything. I certainly don't think Kenny gave it a second thought, and for good reason. So you can tell us how right you were? Nice.

Evertone's favourite bald NBC hockey analyst just had this to say about Larkin http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2015/10/red_wings_dylan_larkin_among_e.html

Even if they waived Andersson, they'd need to sit a Pulkinnen type to make room for Helm IF they wanted to keep Larkin in the top six. Or put Helm on the 4th line. But then Datsyuk comes back and what happens? The good/bad news is that there will probably always be someone on LTIR. We discussed this same roster crunch situation last year, and Holland just rode it out because of injuries (other than losing Nestrasil).
-
Yeah. I'd be OK with this. Or a variation. I like Franzen on the third line. I love that Larkin's on this team now. Maybe it's just because it's exciting? That being said, if they had sent him to GRs I would have been OK with that too. But I'd rather have him on the top line right now over Athanamanthanatuzzi.
-
The value, is that he's supposed to be better than those guys.
-
You may be right about the Penguins but I'd be shocked to see Edmonton make the playoffs this year.
-
Which is what's happening now, and probably why he's on the team no?
-
1 Where would you put Jurco? 2 Quit hatin' on the kid that's in your own friggin profile pic
-
I like the fact that Blashill's not sticking him on the 4th line like Babcock did. Basically saying if you can't steal a top 9 spot from someone, you're going to sit. That being said, I bet Jurco plays Saturday in Carolina.
-
One of the better third lines in the NHL?
-
Yes, but one could argue that in addition to a top four D-man, this team needs another big winger in the top 6.
-
Holland sure does love trading these Jan-guys. Good job these new kid's are not named Dylan Jankin, Andreas Janathanasiou, or Anthony Jantha. Then we'd be screwed.
-
Just because Janmark made the Stars line-up (bottom six forward which the Wings have no room for and probably won't until 2025) doesn't mean Holland could have traded him for Jeff Petry or some other top 4 guy. We're talking about a player that was passed over in two drafts and then taken by the Wings and……wait……wait…..JIM NILL. In fact Nill was probably the only GM that would take Janmark in a deal. Good for Janmark for making the team, that's on him for working his ballz off. I blame Holland for making that deal about as much as I'd blame him for putting Nestrasil on waivers, which is to say not very friggin much. Also: how goddamn predictable was this thread?
-
I thought doctors recommended that he retire?
-
Uh oh.......... Cole has no neck anymore.

What I want to know: why does everyone keep talking about a Beyoncé single when we're trying to debate defensive pairings?
