Yo Blue!! This thread's almost as good as the last one. Remember? I actually thought the mods would have banned you for that. May as well trade Zetterberg too. There, I participated in this joke.

Great effort. Cue the Holland haters in 5-4-3-2-1................

I think Tatar is more of a goal scorer. But you're exaggerating a bit with description of their play. Take this year's stats in GR: Tatar - 45GP - 20G Nyquist - 57GP - 23G So while Tatar is on pace to score more, he's hardly blowing Goose out of the water.

Some kid that they'll bury in the minors for 5 years?

Blashill's doing an amazing job with the Griffins. I know he took some blame for the PP here in Detroit last year but it's evident that he's a good coach and the PP is even worse this year under Renney. I think if The Wings ever truly decide to go with a youth movement, tBlashill will be the guy behind the bench.

BOG Approves realignment, Detroit to the East in 2013/14.

Time to get bigger. -
It's actually: "by all 'intents and purposes," I agree with everything you've said though. Except I haven't been dissapointed with Smith. He's making the transition and trying to work on playing well defensively. I think Detroit can add a scoring winger AND a puck moving D-man. Holland will have to leave his comfort zone though: meaning he'll need to part ways with players he's been loyal to (Cleary), use some amnesty buyouts (Cola, Sammy or Bert) and actually make some trades (Filpulla's rights, Franzen).

Red Wings to be in an Eastern conference in latest NHL/NHLPA proposal

http://redwings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=660140 Approved by the Board of Governer's. Basically, it's official. Wings are heading east. -
Agree with you on Miller. I like Andersson though. Big body, smart, good on the forecheck/cycle, decent hands.
-
Are you referring to the old-timers/alumni game? If so, that's pretty funny.
-
I think the question is, would you be willing to give that up for Perry if he comes here, plays 13 regular season games and the Wings miss the playoffs, or make it in and lose in the 1st or 2nd round and then he walks in the offseason? I personally am not big on that idea.

Ummm didn't you just start a thread earlier saying we weren't winning the cup and that you don't want to see us trade away anything for an Iginla type player? Also. No way in hell Cleary lands Clowe. It would take picks and prospects or a young impact roster player like Tatar. And you don't want this as the Wings aren't winning the cup right? Confused......

<----- That's Datsyuk.

Filpulla's money will go towards re-signing Cleary #bigfreeagentsplash2013

Hudler?

Another way to look at it is this: with more offensive-minded line-mates, and more minutes (his line played less than any other line vs Chicago), what happens to his production, hmmmm? Edit to add: A 3rd line winger who projects to 40 pts over an 82 game season is ******* awesome btw.

Let re-define then? Big guys who can score and are willing to use their body.

GDT 3/3 GDT : Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 1 (SO)

Everyone’s Cleary hate should be channeled directly in the Franzen direction. Cleary and Abby are both working hard. Franzen looks like a sailboat in the centre of a lake on the calmest day of the year. No excuse. -
Sammy - Chelios - Hasek Bertuzzi - Manon Rheaume - Dave Lewis Top 6!!!!!!

Babs on last night's D: "...best we've had all year."

The ironic thing is that people were saying this 3 years ago about Ericsson. -

Dudes are making valid points about over-valuing +/- No one should be saying that a high +/- should be an automatic ticket to Awesomeland. BUT, if Quincey was - 11 and Kindl was - 9, this would be used as LGW ammo to have them banished to Suck Island. I base my opinion on what I see on the ice, and both guys are playing alright. -

Ryan O'Reilly signs offer sheet with Calgary, Avs match
rick zombo replied to Jesusberg's topic in General
Maybe Calgary are finally going into rebuild mode? Seems like a strange thing to say considering that they'll be giving up a 1st and 3rd for O'Reilly. But if they deal Iggy and J-Bow for 1st/2nd/3rd rounders than this might actually work out for them in the long run. Other than the money part of this deal. That was stupid. -
Exactly. BUT if you don't re-sign Filpulla (because he asks for 5M or something) then you have one roster spot open. If Kenny uses two amnesty buyouts (let's say Franzen [sick of his floating]and Cola [Mr Glass]) then that opens two more spots. Something like this? Not saying that this is a preffered line-up, but it could be done (although Clarkson and Clowe will probably either re-sign with their respective clubs or get over-paid on the open market) FORWARDS Ryane Clowe ($5.000m) - Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) - Damien Brunner ($4.000m) Tomas Tatar ($0.840m) - Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) - David Clarkson ($4.000m) Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) - Darren Helm ($2.125m) - Mikael Samuelsson ($3.000m) Justin Abdelkader ($1.800m) - Joakim Andersson ($0.900m) - Jordin Tootoo ($1.900m) Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Cory Emmerton ($0.533m) / DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) - Ron Hainsey ($3.500m) Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) - Brendan Smith ($1.200m) Brian Lashoff ($0.725m) - Kyle Quincey ($3.775m) Jakub Kindl ($1.050m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($4.000m) Jonas Gustavsson ($1.500m) OTHER Buyout: Carlo Colaiacovo ($0.000m) Buyout: Johan Franzen ($0.000m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,746,667; BONUSES: $160,000 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $713,333
