Meh. We were lucky to win the last game against LA. Jimmy stole that one. Wings got hosed bad by the refs in this one.
-
Man the Wings are shooting hiiiigh on Bernier.
-
LMAO. They let everything go. Then it’a a 5-3.
-
Ian White needs to learn to shut it. He ran his mouth during the lockout. Now he's complaining about being benched. How about this? Stop sucking. Kindl gets whipped, beaten, and benched by Babs all the time. All he says is that he's "dissapointed and has to just keep working hard". Kindl's been better than White btw.
-
Scratching White over Kindl or Lashoff is awesome. I'm really happy that Babs made the right decision here.
-
I would say that rushing prospects (especially D-men) is as much or more wasteful than plugging the holes with, well, plugs. I have no problem with Sproul and Oullet playing 2 full seaons in GRs. First year will be an adjustment. Hopefully the second year they dominate, playing big minutes, then make the jump. Brace yourself to be patient though. It could be 3-4 years instead.
-
I'd be happy with 1-1-1. 500.
-
They have potential to both be future top 4 D-men on this team, and I understand the excitement over these guys, but I'll eat my own dick if Sproul and/or Ouelett play on this team regularily anytime within the next two years.
-
(somehow) = amnesty buyouts. The Wings have two. Take your pick: Bert, Sammy, CocaCola, Eaves, Quincey, etc.
-
The problem is, it will be a contender looking to add Flip in hopes of putting themselves over-the-top. I can't see anyone looking to go on a deep run parting with anything that's not draft picks or prospects. Why would Anaheim try and strengthen their team with Filpulla and then trade away Perry? Same with any high-end D-Man. Makes no sense.
-
Sproul and Ouellet will spend at least a year in GR. No question.
-
With the way Clarkson is scoring, he'd be a top 6 guy.
-
Technically, the neutral zone trap is 1-4. Lot's have teams have done this obviously. I have seen Detroit go 0-5 a few times this year too.
-
^ Agreed ^ Listen, I love Flip. But if Detroit continue to free-fall and I were Holland, I'd let everyone know he was available. If Guastad gets you a 1st and 3rd or something, imagine what Filpulla gets you as a rental for a contender. At some point you have to deal from your strengths (Detroit could possible replace Filp with Jarnkrok or Nyquist hopefully) to improve your weeknesses (more high-end prospects). I would say the same thing about free agency. If Detroit can get a legit scoring winger for the same cap hit Filpulla may command, then you have to seriously explore this option. All this being said, I'd have no problem if they kept him for the next 5-7 years either.
-
Yes we can. Like others have said, as long as Detroit doesn't mind turning Grand Rapids into an ECHL team, Ferraro and Sheahan are both available options and are both better than Mursak has been. Where's Aussie_Wing? I feel for that guy.
-
Franzen's "ruling himself out"?? He must have plans for the weekend.
-
LOL I've heard several people on LGW calling for a "house cleaning" and on top of guys like Cleary, Sammy, Kindl, Quincey, etc, I heard Mursak's name too. Basically, dump the garbage and play the guys who deserve to play. Now they waive him, and people are losing their minds and suggesting that the team should keep Mursak and send Andersson or Tatar down because they are waiver exempt? Both these guys are better than Mursak. I think it's a good sign that they keeping A & T up and in the line-up. I think it's a good thing that this team isn't factoring in minor league waiver options when putting their line-up together. Yada yada yada. Etc etc etc,
-
You never wish an injury on another player (except maybe Matt Cooke). All I have to say is this. "Cal Cluuterbuck. Live by the sword, die by the sword."
-
I guess I wonder why Columbus would trade with us when they have no need of adding a guy like Filpulla this season (unless they go on a miracle playoff run) and can just persue him in the offseason as he'll ne a UFA. Same with Calgary really. Generally speaking: Forwards? Yup. Defence? Nope.

Sproul is not 200lbs yet. Not to split hairs. He's tall and skinny. Also, he is pure offence right now. Also, he's playing JR hockey in the OHL and is only 19. I get your point though. But even if Sproul gets "fast tracked", in Detroit that means "only one season in the AHL". I think we can expect Sproul, Ouellet, and Janrkrok to all play a full AHL season next year (altough Jarnkrok make just stay in the SEL until he makes the Wings roster).

Except Kronwall will likely be 42 before McKee gets a shot. Unless this organization changes the way it handle their prospects.

From today's Redwingscentral update: http://www.redwingscentral.com/2013/02/20/3584/ferraro-rounding-into-an-nhl-prospect/ They talk about both Ferraro and Bodin. Here's the latest on Bodin:
-
Alright, now someone do one for Cleary. Go!

Kronwalled: when your ass crumbles under the pressure of trying to replace a legendary defensemen and all you can do is lead your team in the “-“ category and make stupid plays.
