Hahahahah. Are you serious? Way to cherry-pick. Lemieux destroyed the Q. As did Crosby. What’s your point? I was comparing two Red Wing 2nd and 3rd round picks in the modern era that put up similar numbers, if only to say that Frk could turn out to be like Nestrasil - averaging less than a point per game in Toledo. Again, I like Frk. I’m going out of my way to see him play soon. And it’s nice to get excited about our draft picks. But I was relatively excited about Nestrasil too.

I don't usually nerd out about stats, but here's the complete Q stats for both players (as of Frk's stats last week): Frk 10/11 - 62GP-22G-22A-50PTS 11/12 - 34GP-16G-13A - 29PTS 12/13 - 20GP-9G-18A-27PTS PPG AVG = 0.914 http://www.redwingsc...cts/martin-frk/ Nestrasil 08/09 - 66GP-22G-35A-57PTS 09/10 - 50GP-16G-35A-51PTS 10/11 - 58GP-19G-51A-70PTS PPG AVG = 1.02 http://www.redwingsc...drej-nestrasil/ Frk is a goal scorer, Nestrasil was a play maker, but their point totals are almost identical. So, I'm not sure where your numbers are coming from. Edit to add: I'm not saying Frk won't be am elite NHL sniper, but I'm using Nestrasil as an example of how Jr numbers don't always translate into NHL or even AHL success.

And he's been playing on the second line most of the year as a lot of prime minutes are going to MacKinnon and Drouin. So basically he's learning to be a team player, and putting up great numbers as a secondary scorer. But Nestrasil had similar numbers in Jr playing in the Q, and he seems to be going down the path of "bust".

Do you say this because you "have to know" or because you think it's clever to instigate Axe? I have to know. And do I really "have to know" or am I just trying to be funny?

Datsyuk having fun in KHL while dominating, but misses Detroit.

That's OK though. Sid the Kid still has years left in his prime, and this will give him lots of time to properly heal from his concussion issues. That's all that matters. -
Who is this "Peace" guy you have in goal?
-
Ha. Anyway, to add to my point, this would be like blaming Z, Kronwall, and Datsyuk for Pulkkinen’s suckiness this season (not to make light of a DUI charge by comparison).
-
Exactly. And they played directly under Yzerman’s captaincy. Since when is the captain of the NHL club responsible for barely-sophomore behaviour on the farm?
-
Hmmmm. I wonder if he'll come back to Detroit for re-hab? I believe this is permitted no?
-
Nyquist was hurt "along the boards". Last time I checked, that's not a scoring area unless Garth Snow is in net.
-
4-0 for Mrazek. McCollum got the win last night and is now 3-2-1.

Here's a question: If the NHL season is lost, does Brunner become a UFA for the 2013/14 season? I could see the list of teams interested in him growing if this is the case. Sucky.
-
This + Hitch would officially make St. Louis the most "hard-ass" team to play for in the league.

In Datsyuk's case, the "cream" always rises to the top. Or so I've "herd"

RUMOR: Wings have made an offer to Carlo Colaiacovo
rick zombo replied to chances14's topic in General
Yeah maybe. I think that unit puts up more points by committee than last year’s D though. -

I was trying to bait cprice in a more subtle way. His original post reeked of passive and unjustified condescension: The Blues could maybe use him as a depth guy, but he'd be a good signing for Detroit. Almost like he'd been waiting 20 years to say this. -

My main concern with CC is that he doesn't have a ton of playoff experience, having only played with Toronto and St. Louis. But he did have 3A last year in 7 games. -
By the time next summer rolls around, there will be no UFAs left. Just like this summer. Kenny and co just have to keep trying to build through the draft.

At the risk of being called "champ" again, I'll use the Sheahan arguement once more, only this time for Nyquist. IF Nyquist isn't playing a regular shift, he'll be back in Grand Rapids. He won't have to clear waivers. Emmerton HAS to clear waivers, and he won't.
-
I'm not a huge Emmerton fan, but realistically? 0%? Crazy talk.
-
Not a chance. Sheahan will play big minutes or at least a regular shift in Grand Rapids. UNLESS the Wings are decimated by injuries. There's no way, under regular circumstances, that Sheahan stays in Detroit only to sit in the press box or play 5 minutes a night.

Report: NHL can withdraw from Winter Classic as late as Jan. 1st
rick zombo replied to Salviaman's topic in General
That's about 12 groin injuries waiting to happen. But it would be a pretty amazing start to the salvaged partial season. -
Franzen for Bouwmeester + 2013 2nd. Would Calgary take that? Would Kenny do that? Likely not.

Yzerman - Johnny Depp Shannahan - Ben Affleck

OMG. Kenny is a horrible GM. He's let another one get away
