I know what you mean. I have trouble with this theory for one reason. IF they were making a deal that involved, say, Kindl, I think they'd want more than a two game look at Smith. But it's definitely weird, the things the coach said.
-
I want Smith in, but not over Stuart.
-
Need to win this one. Back-to-backs against Boston and Nashville coming up.

The only comment I have about the OPs list is that I feel Emmerton has "graduated". I no longer see him as a prospect. Same with Mursak. Almost the same with Smith. But, to stay true to the converstation at hand, my top 10 is based around who has the best chance of (as Babcock would put it) becoming an NHL player: 1 Smith - self explanatory 2 Nyquist - same 3 Sheahan - projects easily as a bottom sixer. sure thing. reminds me of Abdlekader. maybe less aggresive. 4 Jarnkrok - no glaring weeknesses except for size. he'll fill out. 5 Tatar - has to make the top six. too many bigger/better defensive prospects to fill out the bottom six. 6 Andersson - safe projection as a 4th line/13th (depth) player 7 Jurco - best offensice forward in the system. too early to tell how he'll pan out. hat trick dick, anyone? 8 Pulkinnen - one dimensional. small. slow. his shot's too good to count him out. 9 Aubry - size, speed, work ethic. the rest can be taught. 10 Callahan - fills a void. safe 12th/13th forward-type At least four of these kids will play in the NHL. I'm sure of it. Sproul, Mrazak, Trvdon, Oullet, (etc.) could easily jump a bunch of these guys, but it's still too early. The ten players I picked are safer bets right now, but some (like Andersson) don't have the upside that a guy like Trvdon has.

The problem with Parise (and Suter for that matter) is that there are at least 6 GMs out there that will overpay for them. I can't see Holland doing anything silly. He may leave his comfort zone to land Suter but not Parise.
-
That’s 52 of 54 shots stopped in the last two against the Ducks. The shutout two weeks ago and this game.

I doubt going with a D like this: Kronwall Stuart White Ericsson Kindl Smith Commodore would be wise when Kenny will have somewhere in the 24+M range in cap space to work with. Unless you can think of a UFA better than Suter that will be available the following year.
-
As legendary as a shot block in November can get. Sucks that he’ll miss time.
-
If we shed Hudler’s 2.8 and Stuart’s 3.5 or whatever, and Lidstrom comes back for 5.5 or something: Suter Kronwall Lidstrom White Smith Kindl Ericsson Not bad......
-
For real. I think he’s playing some of the best, if not the best, defence or his career. In fact, I’m pretty happy with the entire team’s defensive play.
-
So I wonder what the point is of killing someone on the the forecheck in the offensive zone when the play dies as soon as your team touches the puck anyway. Seems odd and needless.
-
Maybe he just didn’t “hear" them properly when they asked him to go to the AHL. Sorry, that was a bad joke. I have no ill will towards him, and can’t blame him for wanting to go to Europe. Best of luck.
-
What team wouldn’t want this? Fact is, Detroit doesn’t have the cap space for two 40 goal scorers or the tradable assets to acquire them. It’s debatable whether they have the players trade for one 40 goal scorer.

F#$%^^%$##CKKKKKKK you Amway. This is all about karma.
-
The way things are going? The Wings will be selling guys for 1st rounders at the deadline.
-
Perry looks like Hitler. Cool mask though.
-
Positives: - Lidstrom - Jimmy - I like the new 1st PP set up with Zetterberg on the point. - Ericsson played pretty well That’s all I got.
-
Interesting. So Franzen plays center? Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Nyquist - Franzen - Bertuzzi Abdlekader - Filpulla - Cleary Miller - Helm - Eaves ?????
-
Surely this means Huddles gets the pine.
-
If this is Lidstrom's last year, there is no way Holland sits on 5M in cap space without trying to significantly improve this team by the deadline.
-
So wicked. Leaving tons of money for Suter or Coburn. Or, if Stuart heads to California, both. Now, get rid of Ericsson. Sorry about the Blueadams, but I'm excited. Suter / Kronwall Coburn / Smith Kindl / White OR Suter / Kronwall Stuart / Smith Kindl / White OR, Lidstrom returns at 5M for one last kick at the can. Suter / Kronwall Lidstrom / Smith Kindl / White

If true.....

Loving the DJ/Biznasty.

Word. Put him on with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Yep, it’s that bad.
