As if on cue. Here's a new article on Xavier from redwingscentral.com. Getting stronger is his key goal. http://www.redwingscentral.com/2011/10/18/2229/ouellet-takes-leading-role-with-armada/

It’s a good team problem to have. Eaves Vs Miller Vs Homer. And that’s not even counting Brunnstrom and a healthy Mursak. It also doesn’t make it easier when Hudler’s producing because scratching him, as was the case last year in multiple games, is not an option. I think this gives the Wings one key advantage: rest Holmstrom as much as possible throughout the year. He’ll have lot’s of jump in the playoffs.

I noticed that too. And I agree. Hamhuis being a close second.
-
According to the coach, these are the lines. Interesting that Emmerton has yet to sit. Also, Babcock seems pretty confident that Brunnstrom will play as soon as Saturday.
-
Tonight's forward lines: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Hudler Abdelkader-Helm-Bertuzzi Miller-Emmerton-Holmstrom Eaves and Brunnstrom out. http://www.freep.com/article/20111013/SPORTS05/111013036/1053/sports05

Holmstrom will play, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg will start on the same line. http://www.freep.com/article/20111013/SPORTS05/110130584/1053/sports05 Babcock's unsure of who sits between Miller, Eaves, and Emmerton. Brunnstrom is a healthy scratch but it sounds like he'll play Saturday. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/10/tired_of_practice_red_wings_ea.html

I never thought they had this potenial. In fact, I had them pegged as a non-playoff team. It's only been three games, but they are not a deep team and an 0-3 start is not surprising. 0-16 on the PP is a little strange but that should improve when Wizniewski returns from bone-head land.
-
Agreed. But there has been some lingering debate on Z vs D for the C.
-
The fact that he is rotating with Dats, while Z has a full time "A" leads to this, post Lidstrom: C - Zetterberg A - Datsyuk A - Kronwall
-
Note: TSN and NHL.com have the start listed at 7:00PM not 7:30. Thanks for the GDT. So pumped!!!!!

Lower body. Out a week. I'd say one of Stuart or Commodore will play. I don't think Cleary will be ready though. Filpulla - Zetterberg - Franzen Holmstrom - Datsyuk - Hudler Bertuzzi - Abdlekader - Brunnstrom Miller - Helm - Eaves Nyquist Lidstrom Ericsson Kronwall White Kindl Commodore Exelby Howard Conklin [

The Official NHL Suspension Thread
rick zombo replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
He should get, at most, half of what Wisniewski got. Wiz intentionally targeted the head, no question, and was a three-time offender before his latest suspension. The rest of the preseason and four regular season games. AT most. -
Cleary out for rest of preseason, hopes to be ready Oct. 7

F ck. Here we go. -
This thread is gettin' all sexy.

He didn't take UFC training. He took basic physical training from a guy who happens to train UFC fighters. Big difference. The hyperbole does make for a good joke though.

I voted "other". As epic as the 02 series was with Colorado, I have to go with beating them in six in 97. Finally getting over the hump. The finals win against Philly just seemed like desert.

The Wings are sitting on 6M in cap space right now. Carry that over to 2012. My numbers aren't perfect but I think Holland could swing it. Subtractions - Lidstrom, HUDLER, Homer, Bert, and Commodore (if need be - as in, if it means getting Suter). = 13.25M. Approx Total with cap space carried over = 13.25M + 6M = 19.25M Additions - Suter (7.5) Parise (6) Smith (0.9M) Tatar (0.9M) UFA forward (1M) = 16.3M + Kronwall will get a 2M raise + Stuart will get make 4.5M = 19M Parise - Datsyuk - Cleary Franzen - Zetterberg - Abdlekader Mursak - Filpulla - Tatar UFA (1M)- Helm - Eaves Miller - Emmerton Suter Kronwall Smith Stuart White Ericsson Kindl Howard + Back up And IF the cap goes down by 3M, not counting roll-backs, Stuart could be released, freeing up 4.5M. Suter Kronwall White Ericsson Kindl Smith Lashoff Admittedly not as appealing. OR keep Stuart and trade Ericsson. Edit: Personally, I'd rather take Parise's 6M and spread it out over 2 forwards for better depth, but whatevs.

Bold eh? 1. Smith will play 30+ games for whatever reason (injuries, superior play, etc.) 2. Mursak scores 15 3. The Wings will have 3 times more 5 min fighting majors this year compared to last. 4. Holland sits on his 6M in cap space all year and does nothing major at the deadline. 5. The Wings finish top 5 in GAA 6. The Wings stay miraculously healthy and win the West. 7. Babcock finally wins the Jack Adams award. 8. I finally get to the Joe

I don't think I'd make that trade. At some point 2 first rounders (Smith, Kindl) + 2 future first rounders + a steal of a second rounder (Tatar) has to be more valuable than Weber. Not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper. But I agree, that's a pretty good ballpark asking price.

"We feel good with the people we have," Holland said

Holland still fielding trades options.... http://detnews.com/article/20110705/SPORTS0103/107050335/1128/rss16 -
You have to add Callahan into the mix. I'm thinking a 4th line of Callahan - Abdlekader - Sheahan

Practice today per Detnews.com http://detnews.com/article/20110412/SPORTS0103/104120401/1128/SPORTS0103/Will-Wings’-Henrik-Zetterberg-play-vs.-Coyotes?-‘It-s-tough-to-say’ Top two lines: Mule - Dats - Holmstrom Bert - Abby - Cleary Hopefully the bottom two look like this: Modano - Filpulla - Hudler Draper - Helm - Eaves Miller with Eaves/Draper/Hudler(depending on his performance) rotating with Miller.

Myp2p all the way. A helpful tip: if you normally use a Mac with Safari as your browser, take some time to set up Firefox. A lot of the streams on Myp2p won't work with safari.
