Pre-Season 9/22 GDT: Red Wings at Pittsburgh Penguins
rick zombo replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
First game in the new barn I guess. -
We think Howard looked sharp!!!!!!! edit: and no rebound.
-
Any ideas as to why Sheehan is not in Traverse City at the prospects tournament?
-
What a day it was when Kenny hired Babcock.
-
Not a bad deal for the Penguins. I guess Hilary's the main bread-winner anyways.
-
Price is a better goalie then Halak. Except not in Montreal.
-
He's definitely not good enough to puncture this years roster. I know you're probably adding to some running joke, so correct me if I'm wrong..... But Maltby does deserve a little respect for what he's done, no?
-
I can see Ozzie's tenure in Detroit lasting exactly as long as McCollum's development stint in GR. To me this means Ozzie will most likely play one or two years beyond this upcoming season. But I would not be suprised to see a Howard/McCollum tandem in 2012/13. Who knows though, anything can happen, especially with goalies in Detroit.

PA guy: "Mike's wife Mandy Modano" Not off to a good start

Other than getting into better shape, you could say the same thing about Howard until last season. Also, Babcock has specualted that Kindl is the kind of player that plays better with better players around him.

Babcock has said that he plans on reducing Lidstrom and Rafalski's minutes. To me, this means a stable 3rd pairing is in the works. This can only mean a reliable veteran will be added to the lin-up to play with Ericsson.
-
CBS Sports is also a contradiction, when it comes to hockey.

Looks like the addition of a McKee/Hnidy type won't happen until after training camp or the late fall. Don't shoot the messenger. Wouldn't it be crazy if Smith made the team? There's other good stuff here too regarding Modano and Meech http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2010/07/mccosky_brendan_smith_aiming_t.html edit: I may have jumped the gun a bit. Seems like Holland would sign a UFA if the right deal came along. If not he's happy to play the waiting game.
-
I like Modano but I wouldn't be heart-stricken if he didn't sign. HOWEVER, I hope Holland has a back-up plan beyond Eaves, Miller, Helm, Abby, et al.
-
'twas a mistake. corrected before your post.
-
Right, so Detroit just brought him to Detroit to watch a ball game then? Also: Detroit would be 1M over the cap. Holland has said he'd like to leave 500k in case of injuries. In which case Meech would be moved, Abdlekader would start the season in Grand Rapids, and Miller/Ritola would be moved. Which is what we all know and have talked about here since this Modano rumor came up.
-
One of those injuries was an appendectomy. FYI. Aussie, you're one of my favourite LGWers but I think your zeal for young players/prospects is making you crazy in this case.
-
Rob Neidermeyer to Buffalo. 1yr - 1M edit: overpayement IMO
-
Chicago is not in the running. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2010/07/mccosky_if_mike_modano_continu.html
-
Eric Boulton just re-signed in Atlanta. 650k.
-
Eaves is better at getting injured.
