The US have to play the winner of Russia/Canada no? As opposed to Sweden who get the winner of Finland/Czechs? Based on this, I think Sweden has the easier path to the finals.

That team had leadership. 3 legendary players. Yzerman, Lemieux, and Sakic. Ask anyone that knows (Pat Quinn for example), and they'll tell you that these three guys lead the way.

Sweet. Now Lebda and Meech don't have to be moved for cap space. Instead, they can be traded for a solid defensive D-man who makes up to 1.1M who could play with whomever is the steadiest between Lilja and Ericcsson.

Maybe the point in waiving May is so that he can o to Grand Rapids and actually play over the next two weeks and maybe help the team.

Anaheim clears 3M off the books for next season and ends the goalie controversy. Toronto are stuck with a 7M goalie in 2010/2011. Albeit a good one. I think it's an even deal as far as what both teams wanted to accomplish.

Ericsson will be fine in the long run. I really think right now he needs a stable partner on the 3rd pairing. I also think he needs to play a more physical game. I believe this is an understatement.

Gigeure will go to the east. My money is on Philly. Philly has plenty of chippy bastards they could send the other way, that would fit right in on the Ducks team. Maybe Gigeure and a 1st for Carter. edit: Anaheim would probably have to offer a top prospect like Sbisa or Gardiner as well. -
I like how year in and year out this team competes. Trotz, Ruff, and Babcock are easily the three best coaches of the last 7 years.

My opinion is...... Howard's lateral movement in 150% better than Ozzies'. He would have had goals 4 and 5. And most likely, Miettenen's second goal would have hit Howard's left shoulder. But this is just specualtion.
