Tatar Steals the #1 Wings Prospect Ranking from Kindl
rick zombo replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Thomas is 19. Larsson is 23. -
Despite his amazing season last year, the Blue Jackets rushed Mason. Something the Wings were careful not to do with Howard. Ellis' numbers this year are fairly respectable. The advantage Howard has over these two guys is that he plays for a team with better management. But yeah, here's hoping he keeps it up.

A michigan kid whose hockey hero growing up was vladdy? Get er done.

Paul Martin.

Sammy has two goals more than Bertuzzi, and 5 pts more than Bertuzzi. He also makes TWICE as much money.

The Wings look tougher this year than they have in recent memory.

You'd also see a team sitting in at least fourth place in the West right now, instead of plugging away in 9th. -

I've seen these words, in this thread, used to describe Howard's play: "solid" "consistent" "decent" "pretty welll" How about EXCELLENT?

He'd certainly fit in here in Detroit. If Lidstrom retires, I think they need to replace him with TWO players. For instance, Hamhuis and Exelby. Kronwall - Stuart Hamhuis - Rafalski Ericsson - Exelby Kindl If Lidstrom stays then I see cap space being thrown at a top six winger.

No way.

Let's make a deal. They give The Wings Horcoff, and Holland pays their tab. P.S. Johhny Depp tipped a waiter $4000 not too long ago.

Coaching staff deserves a better fate than "B". Other than that, looks about right.

Leino and a 3rd to Vancouver for Schneider and Sammy.

Good list. Not sure about Forsberg though.

First off, what do blocking shots and hitting have to do with a direct and painfully obvious lack of offense? No one is complaining about a lack of energy and bad defense. This team is working hard and playing well defensively. I thought the board work was fine. They just aren't generating any decent scoring chances, shooting the puck, and going to the net. These are all things that offensively gifted players do, night in-night out. The Wings are missing Zetterberg, Franzen, and Kronwall, to name a few. Also, when Abdlekader is centering your 2nd PP unit, with Meech on defense, it's hard to justify that injuries are NOT a legitimate excuse. I agree with you about Howard though. An extremely bright spot.

What's not to get? They have no offensive punch right now due to injuries. It's pretty simple actually.

We Should Have Gooned it Up These Last Two Games

Aside from some loser Hawks fans and lap-dog sports writers I don't think anyone is laughing about Chicago beating Detroit given the Wings current roster. Not anyone professional anyways. Am I crazy? -

Yes, but making them "earn" it, only makes them a stronger team. -

Of course not. But if the Wings look desperate I can only imagine a room full of Hawks laughing at them after the game and feeling good about themselves. If I were a Blackhawk I honestly think I'd be more unsettled by a Wings team that was going through the motions compared to one that looked like it was trying to compensate for a painfully obvious weekness. I mean come on, they're missing half the line-up. -
Honestly? It's all about Franzen. None of this matters if he takes until next November to get his post-injury game back.
