The Thrashers would have been pretty sweet.

I'm pretty sure Lidstrom touched it last year. Also, I'd say Hank didn't touch it tonight because he's not the captain.

Do the Pens play in the West?
-
Agreed. I think it's a favorable scenario to sit them. Part of me almost hopes this series goes 6, without further injuries of course. I know that's hockey taboo, but I really don't like the Wing's chances playing back-to-back SCF games this weekend against the healthy Penguins.

Simple solution. Lose to Chicago tomorrow, wrap it up Saturday, and have a 6 day rest before things get rolling on June 5th. Also, by doing this, you force the Pens into a 10 day slumber. Genius/

Bowman was never know as a coach who liked the youngsters. He was always considered a "veteran's coach".
-
CBC are reporting that the NHL is looking to try and move the June 5th date ahead. Also, a sidenote: The team with the longer break between series has never won a cup final. Here's hoping for a Penguins win on Tuesday.

Hey, I love Ozzie as much as the next fan. I was just trying to be funny. Sorry to offend.
-
You can get dehydrated from drinking too much alcohol. Just sayin'..........
-
Darren Pang was asked this question on TSN's panel yesterday and, half jokingly, blamed Ozzie's helmet and cage..........
-
It was definitely because of a collision he had with Kronwall. He wasn't the same after that.

Datsyuk was clelarlysnake-bitten this series on offense. But he poked the puck out tonight at 19:57 of the third when it looked like one of the albatrosses from Anaheim would get a shot on goal. Also, he made a great play, and took a monster hit, to set up Sammy's goal. Also, he was a big part of the early 5-3 kill. That's enough for me.
-
This is not true IMO. They gave up, as a man, almost 4 goals a game to a relatively anemic Vancouver offense. I really don't think there's any comparison.....
-
Also, get Bowman to coach and tell Matt Green he has to eat 30 PTS next year in order to learn how to play sans puck.
-
I don't know what's more amazing: 1.) Babcock is a genius and completely schooled Carlyle tonight. 2.) No one reported, saw, or predicted this was coming Legendary coaching IMO

My take on the game. 1. Pittsburgh got the first PP and made it count 2. Varlamov played poorly 3. Boudreau should have called a time out after Pittsburgh's 2nd goal. 4. Boudreau should have pulled Varlamov after Guerrin's goal. 5. From 3-0 on, the Penguins played perfect hockey except for Mouse-Face's bonehead play behind his own net which lead to Ovechkin's gift. Washington had a great season, but they remind me of the early 90s Red Wings. They need to work out a defensive system and then commit to playing tighter hockey.

I have to think that Abdlekader will sit if Draper's in. You need experience in Game 7. A Draper-Malts have chemistry. PLus Malyby kills penalties.

I wonder what Babs actually said?

Malkin = 0 Cups Ovechkin = 0 Cups Crosby = 0 Cups And these losers play in the EASTERN conference. Datsyuk = 2 Cups Seriously though. All you spoiled armchair hockey geniuses need to quit s***ting on Datsyuk. It's a team game and the blame after a game like tonight spreads thick and deep. FOR INSTANCE, I'd rather lick Scott Neidermeyer's palm sweat off Datsyuk's head then have to watch Kronwall play another game like this last one. And that's just one example.

LOL One post in this thread since 7PM ET, May 12. Two counting mine.......
-
Some of us, on LGWs are guilty of this too. The Chicago thread anyone? And no, using hypothetical disclaimers such as "IF the Wings beat Anaheim" don't matter. These threads shouldn't be started. Terminate vent.......
-
They also gave up almost 4 goals a game to an offensively challanged team. Vaoncouver's forwards compare well with Anaheim's. I'm not saying IF Detroit were to meet Chicago that it would be a cake-walk, but the Hawks are a very inexperienced team and made a lot of defensive errors against Vancouver.

Datsyuk scores in Anaheim on Tuesday when the Wings need it most . Mark my words.
