To answer your question, Osgood.
-
Me and my wicked color printer salute you! Thanks Matt.

Losing twice to the Canucks is the only knife in the crotch IMO. Let the other top teams have their garbage can cup parades early in the season after beating Detroit, and we'll see what happens in May.
-
YG, This might be your greatest post ever on LGW. Also, I might humbly add, until Babcock is visibly out of sorts I wouldn't worry too much about the way this team's playing.
-
Detroit stops playing rope-a-dope for a night, and gets out their measuring stick for a change. + Anaheim played tonight. 4-2 Wings.
-
If Kopecky was 5'11" he wouldn't be on this team. As Babs has said: He's a big body that usually gets a hit in on every shift. That's his role. That's what he provides.
-
For sure. I was just stating that the idea of calling less penalties on Wings opponents, because their PP is so dominant, is not fair. It's possible that the Wings get dinged on more borderline calls than their oponents because, like harold said, the Wings are capitalizing on their PPs at an alarming rate. So, as a ref, to remain guilt-free, you better be sure you're calling a clear infraction. Thus the other team only goes to the box for obvious calls and the Wings get tagged for more of the borderline stuff. Generally speaking. Just a theory. And I'm not sure I even buy it.

Exactly. But surely you agree that this is unfair. This is how Detroit builds their teams. No nedd to punish them for being succesful. Other teams spend their money on goaltending, or stock their team with size and grit. What's next? I know, let's make all the Sharks players loose weight because they're too big. It's clearly unfair.

This season's product looks like basketball. In the sense that you can actually tune in with 5 minutes left in the third and watch the game be decided. The really lame thing is that in the spring the whistles get put away like October-January never happened.

Mutual stupidity. Tampa were dumb for hiring Melrose. And Barry was just as dumb for accepting a job in that hell-pit of an organization.
-
Kronwall and Stuart have to stay with their men. That's a forward's job to take the puck carrier.
-
Just to throw some high octane piss on the fire: Would any of you, pragmatically speaking, consider keeping Hossa and letting Zetterberg walk? Just stirring the pot.

I really like this idea. And it's not impossible to imagine it could happen. I like Sammy, and am not a huge fan of Neil, but I think it would be good for the team. I imagine Sammy will be gone at the end of the season do to the obvious cap/re-signing of players scenario and Leino would be a cheaper replacement for, at least his offence. But Cleary, in Sammy's absence would be needed on the 2nd line. IMO it could look something more like this: The Hoss - Datsyuk - Homer Mule - Zetterberg - Cleary Hudler - Filpulla - Neil Kopecky - Helm - Draper Matlby
-
Hossa - Datsyuk - Homer Franzen - Zetterberg - Sammuelson Hudler - Flipper - Cleary Kopecky - Helm - Draper Downey

Well, Conklin will have his chance tonight. If he can get a win tonight and play well he may get 60% of the starts coming up.

Bump. I would also like some streaming info on this too plz.

at the low right corner of the stream box you'll see "down" arrow beside the backward and forward arrows. Click on that arrow. It will give you the option to "save as Quick Time Movie" - do that. It will open it in another window which you can maximize.
-
lol yeah that didn't work on the Mac. But I figured it out.
-
Where is the "free" option?

Bure was amazing, but he had 2 major problems: 1. He played like a big man and he wasn't. 2. He had one gear. 5th gear. I swear he used the end boards to slow down. I've been saying the same thing about Ovechkin. AO has the luxury of having a big frame, but man if he doesn't learn to pick his moments of intensity he's going to kill his body before he's 30.

Giving props to Mogilny was a classy move. I'm happy Feds has found a fit in Washington.
