Here-here for the bump. WTF is that little pie-faced piece of shat gremlin going to do now? He threw his kitchen sink full of douchebaggery at Detroit tonight. Now what? LOL at fat-face.

Yes they did get this far. And guess who scored the Pens first 2008 playoff goal. -
Chris Chelios interview: I'm OK not getting playing time

Chelios is Lazy and he Sucks TM -
Oh, I'm sure we'll find out. Probably something like "Ahhh well you know, what do you expect? He learned from the best. STEVIE Y!!!! Let me tell ya, good Canadian boy." Which would be true, lord help us.

No no, the Wings will still win the Cup. No excuses needed. As far as conspiracy theories go, that is stretching it I'll admit. BUT there has to be some explanation as to why the 4 best NHL refs aren't calling the finals. So something's up.

I'd say they implode somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd period of game 2. Oh wait..........

not enough Crosby!!!!!!!

Malone wants players to "get their elbows and sticks up"

I would be quite happy if the Pens spent most of the finals worried about Kronwall. It's nice to have a guy like that on the Wings' roster. -

This whole thing reeks of a pro-Penguins conspiracy. I'm not about to make a big deal about it, but it's obvious that McCreary calls the game with a mind of his own which is too unpredictable for the NHL head office. Thus, out goes Bill, in goes 4 league stooges. FUCH

No. Lilja got that out of the way in game 3 agaisnt Nashville. If Chelios is well rested/healthy, than you go with him in game 1. (Chelios plays a much smarter game than Lilja, usually, and it will take that sort of effort against Pitts.) But I do think Lilja played well against Dallas last night in game 6.

Osgood has to play the game of his life on Monday. He needs to steal a game, while this team gets back on track. Pavel and Hank need to play with more urgency than they did on Saturday (they have been better on the road than at home). And Cleary needs to score.
-
Or here's an idea. How about the current line-up actually playing like they give a s***? No more mental errors.
-
Except Scheider was replaced on the 1st PP unit by Rafalksi not Sammy. Even if Schneider was still on the team (instead of Brian) there would still be a void on the second PP unit.

Basically, different reffing tandems call the game differently. The refs in game 1 were not the same pair that reffed last night's game. If they were then you could draw comparisons between the two Holmstrom plays in each game. But there was clearly a vibe throughout the game last night that Sutherland and Danny boy were appointed officiating duties for a reason. It's all great to have Dallas win a game, NBC get another TV spot on Saturday, the league make some more $, etc. But if Dallas squeaks one out in Detroit on Saturday, then we have bad news on our hands......

Better for this team to lose on or two heading to the finals?
rick zombo replied to NHLrules?'s topic in General
Better to lose one. But not two. -
The "Stars" were aligned against Detroit tonight. Everyone wanted Dallas to win this one (the Dallas team, the refs, the league, hell even The Wings themselves at times looked they they wanted Dallas to win the game) I personally couldn't be more thrilled about the loss. Some pre-finals adversity for the Wings. They looked like they were going to float their way to a championship. We all know that doesn't happen. I haven't seen the post game presser yet but I'm sure Babcock will be using the word "engage" a lot when he talks about game 5. edit:spelling

James Duthie from TSN refers to them as "the two headed monster I like to call Zetter-Zuke"

But then this place would be boring

Here's what will happen: Detroit will win the cup - Hasek will retire - Drake will retire (he's stated that he only came back this year for a shot at the cup and it's been hard for him, his wife, and kids) - Chelios will play - Abdelkader will play a full year steamrolling through the AHL. - Ericsson will spend another year in GR - the only position that will be filled by UFA will be the #4 D-man (either Stuart or someone else) - Lilja will not be resigned - Leino will start the season in GR 2008-09 Wings: ( it looks boring but I doubt there will be many changes. Zetterberg - Dats - Homer Sammy- Franzen - Filpulla Kopecky - Draper - Cleary Hudler - Helm - Dmac/Matlby Downey Lids - Rafalski Kronwall - Stuart/UFA Chelios - Lebda Meech Osgood Howard.
-
It's tough to say with Helm. He's playing a big role with the club right now. But if you recall, Quincey looked like had "earned" himself a roster spot due to his play in last year's playoffs. I know Quincey had an unfortunate injury in camp last fall, but even if he had remained healthy, where was he to fit in a line-up that included Lids, Raf, Lilja, Kronwall, Lebda, Chelios, and Meech (who was out of waiver options)? My point: I think Helm deserves to play full time next year but a few things would have to happen to make room for him. Drake will probably retire, Kopecky will probably be ready by October/early November to play, but what about Dmac and Downey? It will be interesting................

OK, I love watching hockey and cursing at certain guys on the opposite team. It's a great way to vent. Although there will always be guys the Wings are playing against that I respect (Sakic, Modano) there is a bus full of a%^holes that I hate. With every series there's someone new to loath. So, I was wondering if anyone wanted to join me in listing their top 5 most hated Wing's opponents this playoffs. The perfect chance to "let it out." Here's mine: 1. Mike Ribero 2. Steve OTT 3. Dan Hamhuis 4. Cody MacLeod 5. Brad Winchester (edit:grammar)

I say Downey dresses that game for one last season smackdown (on Bettman)
