What's weird is how great all four of these series were supposed to be.
-
Chelios has not played well in this series. But he hasn't had to either. He was a beast on the PK later in the game (probably because he was so mad about the "too many men" penalty) That being said, he looks a bit tired. I say, play him on Thursday and close out the series. Then hope Montreal-Philly go 6 or 7. Chelios will get a rest ad be ready for round 3. This brings up an interesting point though. What happens with Chelios if Detroit advance to the SCFs? How tired will he be then?

I just ordered one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marleau jumping out of the way of that Modano shot in Game 1 was completely unacceptable. You will never win with your captain playing like that. Ever.

The only thing that was separating Franzen from being a Power Forward was a few goals. Now that he has those, the only thing separating him from being a Power Forward is a bit of nastiness. If he can balance the two, he's off to the races.

That would be radical. And somewhat appropriate.

makes sense

what's going on with the presser? all I see is technicolor.....
-
What's even more nuts than both of them getting the nomination is that this is only Zetterberg's first Selke nod.
-
Incredible. Trivia: When was the last time two Wings were nominated for the same NHL award?
-
All those goalies you mentioned have never lost to those respective teams either. Osgood is 0-3 against the Avs. At the very least, a strong 0-2. I'm not saying that he won't play well. It's just a stat. There's no need to stretch it.
-
Osgood has never won a playoff series against Colorado. For what it's worth......................
-
Yeah, he said that in a press conference after the Game 6 win. I thought it was great too. Drake's really stepped it up. edit: tori spelling

Mr Burke, is that you?

SWF: I'm not admitting he was right because McGuire's angle was that Detroit was in trouble because of their goaltending and because of Hasek. While he was right about Hasek (for now) I have a hard time feeling like Detroit is in trouble. McGuire could have said something like "Hasek may not hold up, but don't worry, they have a proven goalie in Chris Osgood that can step up if need be" But he didn't, because he's a tool.

This one's the best!!! (I hope you fed the wife some whiskey too.) I love hockey TODAY. It's like my avatar says, this playoffs CLASS will prevail.

You win at this thread. Close it up

I like Babcock's comments. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20..._in_game_5.html

Hopefully this team responds. For both Osgood and Hasek.
-
Ellis isn't HOT. He's allowing, on average, 3 goals a game.
-
Game 4 would have been different IF: the Wings had won GAME 3
-
Complete failure from the coaches right back to Hasek. After the 2 goal lead, it's like Detroit were hoping that Nashville would roll over. (they didn't) We'll see what these lazy bastards are made of on Wednesday (they'll win)
-
SJ have no <3 Think about it. Marleau (THEIR CAPTAIN) get's slaughtered by Sarich. How does the team respond? By giving up 4 straight goals and losing the game. Pathetic. And Campbell and Thorton do the flamingo on Nolan's winner. Where's the character? Block that shot with your teeth. That toilet seat cover that the Sharks have hanging in the dressing room (for those of you who were watching CBC) should be the new team mascot.

I suppose the refs are to blame for Arnott only having 1 shot in 2 games? And for Nashville's piss-poor defensive zone coverage. And for Dumont playing terrible hockey. And for............................................................

I'm wondering how healthy Rafalski is. And whether or not the groin's still bothering him a bit.
