Harold wins at this thread. Close it please.

Wait. Wait.............................. There's a game tonight? You mean Detroit aren't forfeiting the season based on today's activities?
-
I really want to see what Washington gave up for Fedorov.
-
How the hell does McGuire know that Howard's "not the answer"? Answer me this. And call me a homer.
-
I heard this too. (unimpressed)
-
Holland has just said via TSN interview that he will make a "small move". Nothing big.
-
As a last resort and as a replacement for Lebda on the #3 pair with Chelios and just to add depth in general, I'd take him, if the price is right. He sure can clear a crease.
-
45 pts? minus 20 ? 4million?
-
It says McCabe would waive his no trade clause if the right deal came along. So how does this mean he's not going anywhere?
-
If you listen to the interview you can hear Holland's phone ringing in the background. Ken started to sound a little distracted aftre that. Hopefully he didn't miss an important call.

Holland talking to 'a lot' of teams http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...g_to_a_lot.html
-
ESPN? Hahah. They will send you the latest results on the mid-westen Nebraska Dog Show competition before you get any info on NHL trades.
-
Don't be suprised to hear of a Cleary re-signing too, before Detroit make any trades. Holland needs to get a grip on next season's roster and salary structure, before he makes any deals.

Well "God" let the Devils win two cups. So.......................

It's been confirmed tha Waddell himself was scouting a Hamilton Bulldogs game today. This, by the way, is Montreal's farm team. In fact Atlanta have been scouting the Habs over the last two or three weeks much more frequently than they have scouted Detroit. If Hossa gets dealt, IMO, it will be to the Canadiens.
-
Howard just needs to learn how to close his legs on breakaways. If so, no worries.
-
Whoever Waddell decides has made the best offer for Hossa will be given 48hrs to try and sign him to a contract extension. If a deal can't be made with Hossa and his agent, the trade won't happen. So right now, Hossa has probably been traded. He'd have to be, for the deal to be worked out by the deadline which is exactly 48 hours away.
-
Yes, but the funny thing is, Meech is playing much better than Lebda. Lebda should be traded.
-
I think Homer gets a free pass around here. He played really really poorly tonight. Any other guys (Lebda, Sammy, Hudler) play like this and they get crucified. Let me add: I think Lebda, Sammy, Hudler, and Frazen played like ass. But so did Homer . Let me also add: Homer can, and will play better. The other guys I mentioned? Not so much.
-
If the price is the same for both, I take the guy who's not a UFA after this season, and who is conveniently more physical. I'd take Salei.

Penguins Islanders Capitals Blue Jackets Sharks Thrashers and Vancouver makes 7 if you count this:

Oooooooooooooooo. Interesting

He was originally a forward. Andersson thought he's make a good blueliner. He was asked to switch to D around the time he was drafted. That's where the "raw talent" tag comes from. He's still learning to play the game on defence. But he's arguably improved more than any Wings prospect over the last two years. He's got the size, edge, shot, and mobility for the NHL. He just needs to keep learning the game, and become more consistent. That's the low-down, as far as I know.
-
Ideally, he would sign for 5 or 6 years. Does this sound reasonable? The way I see it, in 3-4 years, if Flip and Huds mature into decent 2nd liners like they are supposed to they will, combined, make as much as Hossa. So the decision is, do you want depth, or do you want one "lights out" sniper? Also, here's a question for everyone: If Detroit doesn't get a pure goal scorer like Hossa through a trade, who do you see within the organization filling that void? I say, while Detroit has good prospects, none of them have that kind of pure scoring ability. I pesonally would like to see someone like that in Detroit before Lidstrom retires. edit:spelling

See, maybe it's based on their performances over the past few seasons, but I can't understand how some of you think Dallas are not built for the playoffs. I think they are, and here's why: 1. While not as good as Luongo, Kipper, and maybe Guigere, Turco is better right now than Hasek, Theodore, Backstrom, Nabokov, Khabibulin, or whomever else in the West. (edit: open for debate) 2. Zubov was top 5 in D scoring before the injury, and he's an excellent PP QB. Along with a healthy Boucher. 3. Modano's play has slid a bit, but he's stilll Modano, and he's won it before. 4. They have a gritty heart-and-soul type Canadian captain. 5. They have a big core of outstanding defence-first Finns (Norstrom, Lehtinen, Hagman) 6. Guys like Barnes and Ott give them a gritty hardworking agitating presence. They lack a big scoring winger and they admittedly have a lot of unproven players, but if they can address some of their scoring needs, combined with solid team defence, I think they'll do OK this year.
