This is how I feel as well. Good post.

The fact that he played 7 minutes, compared to Calders 3.5 minute playoff average or whatever, is saying something on it's own.

Like San Jose: the big, fast, deep, hungry, tough young Ducks have shown they can be prone to nuclear-style cerebral meltdowns. Let's hope they share the same fate as San Jose.

Anahiem 18 - Canadians 4 - Americans 3 - Europeans Brian Burke is an old-school, fundamentally archaic, hillbilly.

First off, did Campbell go on record saying anything at all yet? Link? I've heard no statement, official or otherwise from the head office yet. Secondly, it's pretty early yet to assume how the Wings will play in th SCF, if they even get there. Or how the Sens will play regardless of who they face. Basically, just a bunch of presumptions from you. Correct?

Sign Bert. Sign Fedotenko or Blake or someone. Blake - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi Homer - Zetterberg - Grigorenko Franzen - Filpulla - Samuelson Maltby - Draper - Cleary Kopecky
-
No centers needed pleaze. Datsyuk Zetterberg Draper Filpulla Cleary Hudler are all naural centers. 2 scoring wingers please.

This move was about adding speed, a solid forecheck, and generating more "down low" time in Anaheim's end. Calder could still forecheck and skate Ok, but because of his hand, he could not control the puck aong the boards. Hudler adds offence only. He's not fast, and can not rag the puck down low. Every second Kopecky helps keep the puck in Anaheim's end is one less second that Detroit needs to worry about Anaheim's offence. Again, this is not a Kopecky > Hudler or Calder situation. It's about which of these three players bets suits the role I described. It's a no brainer.

I actually hope that it's more to do with how Anaheim are playing us. I think the coaching staff can adjust. The Wings being drained is my only concern in this series. If Detroit have physically hit the wall, then they are in trouble. Other than that though, I think that they will get to Giguere, and figure out a way to stretch Anaheim a bit. You could see the long pass starting to come in the 2nd period of game 2. All Detroit have to do (as they did with San Jose) is figure out a way to get the puck out of their end quickly, and score in transition. I honestly think Game 2 is probably the best the Ducks can play, including Giguere, and they were very lcuky to win. I agree with NFM25, Wings in 6.

See what Cherry has to say. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hnic/coach...e_more_car.html Suprisingly he doesn't like Perry's comments.

Huh? From your original post. I just quoted your numbers and went from there.

Ripping off the monkey. Reeeeeeeeeeeaaal original.

Well that 14M you allowed for still leaves appox. 5M under the cap. Call-up's salary replaces injured players salary. Dom gets a max bonus of 1.1M. Howard and Cheli will combine for 2M or so. So that still leaves money under the cap.

Here is what the Wings have committed for next years roster, with a total of $29.3 commited salary. Lidstrom - $7.6 Datsyuk - $6.7 Zetterburg - $2.7 Draper - $2.128 Holmstrom - $2.250 Samuelson - $1.2 Kronwall - $1.5 Lilja - $1 Franzen - $.900 Filppula - $.850 Osgood - $.800 Cleary - $.675 Lebda - $.550 We would have $14 to spend on 1 D and 4 F So: Resign Bert - 3.5 Million/yr - 2 years Sign Corey Sarich - 4 Million/yr - 3 years Resign Schneider - 4.5 Million/yr - 3 years Grigorenko - .85 Million Hasek - 2 Million Bertuzzi - Datsyuk - Grigorenko Homer - Zetterberg - Franzen Maltby - Draper - Cleary Hudler - Filpulla - Sammuelson Kopecky Rotate Hudler, Sammy, Maltby, and Kopecky in and out of the line-up. Lidstrom - Sarich Schneider - Kronwall Chelios - Lilja Lebda/Quincey Again, play Chelios and Lilja 40 - 50 games and rotate Quincey and Lebda through the line-up Hasek Osgood/Howard Is it just me or is roster space going to be a bigger problem than Cap space Kenny might want to think about making some trades.

''Sometimes I talk to myself,'' he said. ''I just say a few words. ''I might say to myself, 'Get ready.' 'Watch the puck.' 'Be ready all the time, that's what you're here for.' Sometimes I look at the fans and smile.'' Also this quote is great: The 42-year-old Detroit Red Wings goaltender jabbers at teammates to get out of his sightlines. '''Must see', I hear that a lot,'' says Nick Lidstrom.

Is re-signing Maltby 3-yrs a BIG MISTAKE?
rick zombo replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
Maltby was signed for veteran leadership and depth. Ideally, I'd like to see him play 40 games, and give the other 40 to Kopecky. And he'll be good to have in case of injuries. -
Plays of significance, awesomeness, or relevance so far in this Red Wing playoff run. Let's see your choices. Mine: 10. Dasyuk's game winner, Game 2, WCSF 9. Chelios scores short-handed 8. Hasek's late-game heroics against Phaneuf/Moss, Game 6 7. Schneider, OT 6. Sammy's duece 5. Cleary's penalty shot 4. Lidstrom's goal-line stand 3. Cleary destroy's Phaneuf 2. The Mule working overtime, Game 6, double OT 1. Lang, 19:26 Feel free to do a better job.

1.) to not sign another center 2.) to sign at least one scoring Right Winger 3.) Resign Schneider for 4 Million 4.) Sign Corey Sarich

Yeah, good points.

Sweet. So does my Dad. Happy birthday Dad. Happy birthday Mr Yzerman.

Calder has to be hurt. Has to be. And it has to be his wrist. But I agree, he's been a non factor. And IMO Hudler shouldn't be on that list. Unless you had to pick 5 players (see your Osgood comment)
