Was it a sad day when you got fired from Detroit's scouting staff? Always agreed with a lot of what you said on here but you're not having a good day are you? When you start agreeing with Frank "lil Don Cherry" Grime's comments, you know there's something wrong. No? My opinion on this draft? Holland and company are getting creative and none of you know enough about Red Wings hockey operations to understand what they're doing. I still remember the epic LOL meltdown LGWings had when they drafted Bertuzzi in the 2nd round. Looks like that might have been a good idea after all.

So I must really be missing something. Svechnikov is an awesome pick at 19th overall. Big. Raw. Fast. Elite skill. And a great demeanour (watch some interviews). There should be way more partying going on here.

Calm down I like to look at the first half of this last sentence and feel grateful. Our forward prospects are a+. Is that not awesome? Depending on who you listen to, Holland can be criticized for lots things but drafting isn't one of them. The Wings always take the best player available and they won't change this strategy anytime soon.

Exactly. Ton's of cap space this year. See what Blashill can do with him. Maybe he plays well enough to generate some trade interest. If he struggles, dump him next June when that 2.5M (or whatever) in cap space becomes more valuable.

The Wings have no cap issues this year. They could easily add 7M. It's next year that they'll have some work to do with Helm and Abdlekader becoming UFAs, while Mrazek will need a new RFA contract as well.
