You quoted three of us and you noted the polarizing comments. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like you being “amused” is a way of implying that all three opinions of Smith’s play tonight are different because of some inherent bias that affects the way we watch the game. This was the part of your point that I got, because it happens here all the time. Except my quote was simply referring to that one shift of Smith’s that Hakan Andersson, Don Cherry, frank grimes, me, kip, joesuffP, and you would all unanimously agree was bad. I get your point. I was talking specifically about one of Smith's shifts. And it was a bad one, regardless of what you think of his play overall.

Strangely enough, for a guy who was drafted as an offensive d-man who had issues defensively, I find his defensive play has come a long way. It’s his offence which seems to be regressing. But that’s because Babcock had him neutered 2 years ago.
