Beautiful. Tatar made a great interception in his own zone. Long pass up to Sheahan on the right wing at Nashville’s blue line and made a great play to tip the pass through his own legs. Sheahan gets full control of the puck and Nyquist joins him on the left side, 2-on-1. Riley threads the saucer pass, Nyquist buries it.

This game will tell me if my hatred of James Neal has mellowed. Huge game. Nashville played last night so hhis game is winnable. But I'm not expecting much. They're always sluggish in first games back after road trips.

How about "subtle crosschecks and slashes"? There was a sequence last night along the boards in the St Louis end where Reaves and Jackman took turns crosschecking Glendenning in the back and the ribs as he battled for the puck. I counted 9. Watch the extended highlights of the Tatar goal and see how many times Shattenkirk slashes and crosschecks Sheahan as the play develops. (Riley's glove doesn't just fall off on it's own) So basically f*** Pang and company and f*** Olczyk

Not to be too cocky because that was a tight one, but it’s always sweet when the opponents genius strategy of “run them, hit them, whack them, cross check them and we’ll beat them because they’re all scared and from Sweeden” doesn’t work out the way they planned. Edit to add: Rangers + Panthers + Habs all lost tonight, and Leafs are down 2-1 to SJ. Great great night to get two points.

True. But they've also been a complete dissapointment in the playoffs the last few seasons. There going to be tough to beat this evening. I'm just glad they didn't lose to Edmonton on Tuesday.
