TB's Paquette learns the hard way, don't start **** w Chara
rick zombo replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I agree that Redmond likes "old time hockey". If I had a dollar for everytime he bitched about hooking penalties and soft calls I'd be able to afford a new everything. But none of this means that he's remotely in the same league as that Beantown Rat, Edwards. -

If so, Redmond's adapted to today's game while Edwards still thinks Cam Neely's about to take the next shift. Also, apparently you've never noticed that Ken Daniels doesn't call other team's players "hacks". -
One of the best not goals of the season!!!!!

So, basically, there are a few regular posters here on LGWs that have helped make Jack Edward happen. -

I wish I was born a genetic mutant. I would get all the women and I would dominate at the food trough. I would also take liberties with other people in my profession, and have my team's jersey worn by frankgrimes while he pretends to watch Red Wings games. +10 -
Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?

Injured MLive : Howard out at least 2-4 weeks with "slight groin tear"
rick zombo replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Really? I didn't get that at all from your post. -
Because of that one time Mrazek got burned in Calgary. We all know that on LGWs, one time = labeled for all eternity. Mrazek is actually two zillion times better at playing the puck (including NOT getting caught) than Howard is. Am I exagerting? Perhaps. But, when in Rome................

Yeah I just read on the Leafs SBNation site (of all places) that ticket holder are being told to show up by 6:45 for the ceremony. So yeah. there's little chance the game starts before 7:30 or 7:45.

Exactly. Now that Maata's out for the season, Pittsburgh will be looking to wheel and deal. They have a "win now" mentality. In a bubble, it wouldn't cost the farm for Petry. But there's no bubble. In fact, they will be several fringe playoff teams (like us) looking to fix their D, along with a few contenders looking to further strengthen their blueline. So it would no doubt be costly for Holland to aquire Petry. -

Not only did he try and trade Osgood in 2001, but he ended up exposing him to waivers. But yes, I generally agree. -
Anyone know if 7:00 is puck drop or the start of the ceremony? If it's the ceremony than the game won't start until closer to 8:00.

aaannnnd he shoots right.

I agree. But the last two trades Holland made were to "get us to the hump" with the Legwand deal falling more obviously into this category than the Quincey one. Don't rule out Holland making another deal like this. -
Petry next Oiler to be shopped - FTLOG Kenny, get it done!

DeKeyser and Kronwall and Ericsson are all better than Petry. -
Yeah and George Paros, who was widely considered the smartest man in hockey, can do pretty much anything he wants now that he’s no longer playing hockey. EXCEPT MAYBE HE CAN’T BECAUSE HE MIGHT END UP WITH JELLO FOR BRAINS NOW BECAUSE OF ******* FIGHTING IN THE NHL. Christ.

Considering Minnesota are desperate for a solution to their goalie woes, I'd have to agree. There would be a bit of a bidding war for a guy like Ward, Enroth or Neuvirth.

Very true. Good point. Miller and Sheahan were excellent vs Calgary so maybe Babcock doesn't want them split up. And it makes even less sense to put Pulkinnen on the fourth line than Weiss. So was is the odd man out of last game's combo. I guess. Anyway, special teams are obviously this team's bread and butter so I suppose it doesn't matter where Weiss, Helm, or Miller play as long as they slot in where they should when they are on the PP/K
-
Yeah. That was me in the GDT. I was sure Weiss would either play the rest of the game on the 4th line or not play at all. Turns out, he kept his spot in the 3rd, but barely played. I think Babcock sees the value of having him on the PP, but other than that, it's obvious that Weiss either isn't working hard enough or doing the things Babcock wants him to. Or both. Actually, they might be one and the same. I'm OK with this. Except that it really annoys the hell out of me that guys like Weiss and Legwand get this treatment when Franzen gets a free pass each and every night.
