Also, how the hell did Kassian not get fined for his dive against Franzen on Saturday? I'd love to see a league breakdown of what constitutes a fine-worthy dive, much like the Shanaban head-shot videos. Those would be pretty fun to watch

What worries me is that Nyquist essentially got fined for being bad at diving. If he was a real pro like Kesler, we wouldn't even be talking about this right now.

Bad Nyquist bad bad. That being said, how many times have Ryan "Tumbleweed" Kesler or Pavelski been fined? Is it 10? The answer better be 10. Also, I should add: if the NHL is serious about getting rid of the dives, then stop calling the initial friggin infraction too. Just send one guy to the box for unsportsmanlike. Then the other team can point at him and laugh, and then score on the PP.

Yeah. Weiss looked great. I can see why he might fail Babcock's "eye test" because he's not hard or heavy on the puck at all. Or even looking at possesion numbers, he might not fair well because he doesn't keep the puck for long. He makes plays quickly. Quick short pasees, things like this. But when you play him with skilled players (as was the case last night) you can see that his hands and IQ are top notch. -

Oilers were able to get a late 1st from Pittsburgh for Perron. IMO, he'd be the forward/winger equivalent of Petry. BUt Perron's signed for two more years at a very reasonable cap hit. Petry's a UFA this July. But top 4 blueliners are harder to come buy so the supply vs demand is unfavourable for the buyer. Based on this, I think it would take Helm + a 2nd. Holland would need to move a d-man though, so Kindl + Andersson + 2nd. Tell McT to take it or f*** off. -

The Oliers have improved by adding Klinkhammer and Roy and also by getting Nikitin back from injury. Plus they got a "season best" performance from Fasth. The Wings dominated that game last night. But man, Yakupov and Schultz were terrible. -
