Do we need a trade to get our offence going ?
rick zombo replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
+ 1 for entertainment value. Back on topic though, f*** Chris Stewart. Also, I don't want to trade Pulkkinen either. Unless it's for Yandle. -
No surprise there. Turgeon din't make it. Honestly I was hoping for more NA representation than just Larkin and Hicketts.

injured Abby Out 2 Weeks with partially separated shoulder

Yep. Calling up Callahan and potentially losing him in a few weeks would just be a completely Nestra"silly" move by Holland. -
Apparently part of a general downtown power problem.

Alfredsson Set to Sign 1-day Contract with Senators

LOL. There was no room for him because: Cleary (and also Samuelsson). -
I'll go out on limb and say it's because they can't trust him to play with discipline? Pretty sure he got 5 + game for cleaning someone's clock in the SSS this fall.

No lil Bert or Nastasiuk.

The only way you ever trade 'KFQ' and keep Lashoff is for cap reasons. I don't own a pair of Team Quincey pom-poms, but he's waaaaaaay better than Lashoff.

Then they'll discover lingering scar tissue from a sports hernia surgery and he'll miss even more time. Then someone will spot him dog-sledding in Europe.

Beat me to it.

Kronwall scored but still having an iffy game

Nice to see Vancouver still know how to dive even though Kesler’s gone to Anaheim.

Probably has something to do with ‘Hockey IQ”. It appears Ouellet has this in spades. Smith, god love him, while having superior size and skill seems to be a slower between the ears.

As in “We’re way better than I expected so far. Let’s not talk about this anymore until they start to suck and then I’m right”

'Tis true. And Tatar needs to play like Loooooch.

If he's scoring, I don't care where he plays. That's the bottom line for me. I know the 4th line is supposed to grind, be physical, fight, and be hard to play against. But IMO that's a pre-cap notion when you could load up the top six. This team does not have a bonafide, dominant top line. They need balanced scoring from everywhere. All four lines need to chip in. I'd like to give Jurco a few more games to cash in on the chaos Glendenning creates around the net. Lord knows those truck hands of Luke's aren't going to score on their own. Anyway, you and I usually agree most times and I think we're both fans of the Jurco. Ultimately I see him as a top six winger like you do (I think a future line of Jurco - Sheahan - Mantha would be nassssssssssty). We just have different wishes for how he should be used at this exact moment. -

But you'd have to be crazy to think that a Jurco 4th won't score way more than an Andersson 4th. Right? I agree with joeseffP. Jurco needs to get back to skating and banging, two things he excelled at last year. Keeping him on the 4th line with two hardworking grinders is an interseing way to do this. Let him not worry about scoring and get him physicaly engaged. I bet it does wonders for his hands and his overall confidence. I know you want him playing big minutes in GRs but, IMO, this team needs Jurco in the line-up now, whether it's on the first line of the 4th. Not in GRs. -

Is he really grinding if he's scoring? I be reluctant to send Jurco to GRs and I don't think he needs to play in the top six to justify his place on the team. Jurco's an important guy when he's playing well. This team gets smaller and slower when he's not in the line-up. -
Not defending Kindl, but you have to look at the system they play and who the coach is. Look at Smith's numbers. 19 pts last year. It's hard to argue against Babcock as a coach because he's getting pretty good results so far this year, but it's obvious that the only two defencemen on this team that are consistently "allowed" to be offensive-minded are Kronwall and DeKeyser. If Kindl played for Tampa, for example, I bet he gets 30 points.

Jurco was great on that line. He's a big-body who skates waaaay better than Andersson and instantly make that line a threat to score. -
