If the pros are going to South Korea in 2018, I look forward to watching Blashill' US team beat Babcock and the Canadians. IF Babcock is even still coaching the nationals at that time.

When/if expansion happens and if both goalies are still playing equally well, you'd have to think that the tie would not go to the veteran. Mrazek will be the younger, cheaper option. Hopefully by that point, the brass will have a good idea if he can shoulder a 50-60 game work-load and play with consistency.

Not agreeing that Babcock is hockey coach jesus does not make someone "anti-Babcock".

Yzerman and Holland and co. went "in house" back in 2010 for the olympics. They knew Babcock and knew him well. His Canadian team barely and I mean barely beat an inferior USA squad. He got the call again in 2014 because of experience. Also, "Best coach in the world evah!!!!" and "right man for the job" are not necessarily synonymous.

Ah but the problem is that one guy looks like John Oats and the other guy has a chin like Batman. Also one guy doesn't use "u" to replace all other vowels when speaking which perhaps doesn't appeal as much to the Molson-swilling disciples of Cherry.

Quincey's 4M will potentially be coming off the books as well. But Abdlekader and Helm are UFAs and a few of the kids are RFAs, including Mrazek. Plus, Holland has to save that money for Kopitar or Stamkos.

Feel bad for the kid, but not the Oilers. Also, there are so many great rookies this year. Maybe they'll all start to get some well deserved attention now that McHockey is out.

I'm always 50/50 on whether to take you seriously or not. With the former option in mind I'd like to point out that Larkin and McDavid are playing big minutes. You want to play Athanasiou on the 4th line. Silly. In fact, that mentality makes "an-ath-of-you".

May as well bring Mantha up and make him the 13th forward while they're at it. No need to have either of them in GRs playing 15-20 minutes a night when they could play 7 in Detroit. Development what?

Worked on Saturday. Andersson was as good or better in that game than Jurco was vs Carolina. Not to open that can of worms.
