Anyone think he did this on purpose?

You're obviosuly talking about the 50 man roster? The current 23 man roster only includes Monster, Glendenning, DeKeyser, and Lashoff (and almost Ericsson)
-
Dastyuk and Zetterberg both have elite hockey IQs. They also have elite work ethics. But who knew? The Wings might have had a gut feeling, but IQ and work ethic reveal themselves more slowly and more naturally than what you take away from watching a big 17 year old from Ontario bulldoze some kids and pick up a rebound at the World Juniors. It’s still early, but it looks like Nyquist is cut from a similar cloth.

Stars trade Sergei Gonchar for Travis Moen from MTL

I’m sure you made some good points, but I just can’t keep reading after that opening sentence. -
Easier said than done though, right?

What a pointless trade. Also, I'm surprised to see Dallas dead last in the west considering Nill is supposed to be twice the GM Holland is. Or at least that's the talk around these parts no? -

Interestingly, Babcock said post-game that rookie video coach Andrew Brewer tells him who to pick for the shootout http://video.redwings.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=67462 -
The man!!!!!! Also, where did he get that awesome hat? That thing is rad.
-
NHL refs really can f*** the f*** off and ******* time. Of course the Wings get the only penalty in that scrum.
-
Going into the 3rd with a 3 goal lead vs a team that played the night before? If they can’t put this one away I’ll be blaming the coaching staff.
-
And there’s top six forward Helm burying his............oh wait. LOL
-
Well, this is for sure the worst line-up on paper so far in this young season. It looks like last season only Jurco and Tatar aren’t as good. I want to cry.
-
LOL called it. Babcock’s on crack. Get ready for top six Cleary everybody.
-
Probably Andersson #realgud

Well the version of the Wings last March that scored 7 was much more anemic offensively "on paper" than this one. That was when Franzen - Legwand - Nyquist was the top line and both Zetterberg and Datsyuk were out. That game was an offensive anomaly.
-
Also, second straight ssratch for Jurco. I wish they'd sent him to GRs for tonight and tomorrow night's games.
-
Yep. Or be ready to score lots of goals. Last year in Detroit the final score was 7-4 Wings. That was not a tight game.
-
No hearing for Franzen. Could the league be feeling a little guilty about the constant s***ty ass reffing the Wings have been subjected to? http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/red-wings-rangers-tailings-no-hearing-for-franzen-frustrating-issues-gustav

The flip side of this is that a guy like Ericsson probably looks terrible playing D for a team like Toronto. Babcock's system may stunt player's offensive numbers, but it's probably helped win a few Selke's and made average defensemen good enough to play on the top pairing.
-
Well, in fairness, his career AHL numbers and his numbers in a handful of NHL games are much better than his numbers so far this season. I was mostly saying that it's too bad he's on one of the worst streaks of his young pro career right now.
-
Well put. I don't think, at least on paper, that they are any worse than say the Lilja-Lebda 3rd pair during the cup run in 08. The main difference is that those guys played behind a top four of Lidstrom -Rafalski/Kronwall - Stuart (Which is still the best top four we've had in the modern era, imo). I'm with you mostly. This team's issues aren't with the bottom six forwards or the 3rd pair D. For the third year in a row the problem has been lack of production from the top 6 and an average-at-best top four D. edit to add: that being said, this team needs every ugrade it can get, and while Lashoff hasn't been costing us games, Quincey does make this team better (I can't believe I'm saying this LOL)
-
This is true. And I agree. Unfortunately, for arguement's sake, corsi doesn't account for damages to team pschye and momentum changes. Stats will always have trouble with this aspect of the game. That's why many NHL management types insist on using the "eyeball" test as well. This is true as well, and sort of ties in to what I've said above. For the record, I do feel like this team misses Quincey, who is a definite upgrade over Lashoff.

Yeah, too bad Mrazek is currently in a bit of a slump in GRs GP 4 Wins - 1 GAA - 3.80 SV% - 0.854

To me, the only surprise here is that it’s his shoulder. I could have sworn that it looked like he exploded some part of his lower torso.
