I should clarify, I've always been a big fan of Stuart but I still blame him and Ozzie for both of those goals.

IMO, you've got Babcock, Julien, Tippett, Sutter and maybe Vigneault/Hitchcock. Quenville could win 18 cups in 4 years and I still wouldn't drag him into the "pro" side of an arguement. Just my opinion, of course.

I wonder if Savage heard directly from Holland or the player's agents that they "are far apart". Or is he just assuming that "not close" = "far apart." Because "not close" could simply mean that neither side has gotten serious about getting something done because neither side is in a rush. Hudler and Fedorov are the only RFAs that Holland has ever had trouble with, so I'm not overly worried.

I have no problem bring Alfie back for 1 year. This team will have enough injuries that Jurco will probably play most of theseason in Detroit. Mantha will get a look too. As for the jokes about Glendenning taking Jurco's minutes? Luke will never see the third line and unless he plays the wing, he could be the odd man out most nights, despite Babcock's man-crush. And if anyone wants Jurco playing on the 4th line vs 1st line minutes in GRs then you need an examination of some sort.

All valid points. I just had me some level 10 hate for that Ducks team in 09. But yes, with the injuries (especially to Kronwall and Schneider) it was a great result in 07. To think the Wings could have won that year after so many pundits had written them off post-Yzerman/Shanahan makes me all warm and fuzzy.

It's all about which team needs the trade more. In the Garrison and Georges trades, both Van and Montreal wanted to move those guys. In the case of Tyler Myers and the deadline deal for Legwand neither Buffalo or Nashville were overly interested in trading their guys, but Holland was desperate.

I'd almost rather Mantha spend the year in GRs. Wait until Babcock moves on, then bring him up next year. Otherwise, Babs will ruin this kid's offence while trying to make him realgud like his boy Glendenning
