I guess the rule is technically by touch, but sheltering the puck is often interpreted the same way. I guess it's a tough call based on the books, but going by how things are usually interpreted, it's a clean hit. What a farce though. Just because the player got injured, doesn't mean there was an intent to injure. Retroactive reffing is garbage.

Yeah, I'm wondering what the rules say too. I didn't watch the Versus feed until I got on youtube, and "Edzo" was trying to say that Havlat hadn't touched the puck... Wondering if it was his bias toward the home team or an actual rule.

I've always wondered why we don't have a song. In Europe/Sweden they do. I think we're gonna get shown up by the crowds there in the season-opener next year. We should start a song that we can continually sing like they do at soccer games in Europe. It would be so awesome. Maybe we should start a thread and have people submit ideas... The "Let's Go Red Wings" is classic, but unoriginal. Every team uses it, including the retarded Ducks who don't realize their team name is one syllable.

Anything ending with a -1 implies smooth skater to me. Someone who glides with at touch of magic. Old school Fedorov, Forsberg and Hossa are perfect examples. Filps has that aura about him too. He just needs to not fall down as much and go sliding into the boards.

I think 81 by far matches his style of play better. Just for my sake, he should keep it.
