You don't inspire players to play better by loving them unconditionally. We're limiting the shots like crazy and he's letting way too many in. You have to send a message and part of that message is that Red Wings fans expect a lot from their team. Babcock will undoubtedly try to send a message as well by perhaps starting Conklin or maybe even bring up Howard. All everyone is saying is that this needs to happen for the better of the team, to motivate him to be the best player we know he can be. And yes, he did great last year. Especially when he first came in during the first round. He was a type of Osgood I have never seen who I felt comfortable in net. Why? Because he earned being there. The criticism is so he will have to do the same this time and be amazing.

This is true. It would be silly not to. The only thing I could imagine is if a couple guys were on a break and he preferred to pass it to the other guy. I've seen this happen before. Turns into a passing game and eventually one of them has to put it in. But they don't ever not put it in.

I mean if you were a big fan during the rivalry, I don't understand why you would want to wear an Avs jersey. It just wouldn't feel right to me. But I don't see anything wrong with it. Especially if you are a newer fan, but then again I would hope you would realize that wearing an Avs jersey makes you look like a n00b and you'd stop. Kind of realizing the tradition and saying, hey, I look dumb doing this. So should you feel this person is lame for wearing one? Justifiably, you could. It's a weird thing to do.

I'm no salesman, but with so many empty seats, you would think they would make more by lowering prices a bit. You don't lose anything by having more people in the building. In fact, the chance of food sales goes up.

And what a win it was. It felt sooo good. It would have felt good to come back from that far behind EVEN if it wasn't the avs. Then you throw in our heated rivals.

The suspension was due to "harming" the reputation of the league and game. I think all the harm, if any, would be to Avery looking like an idiot. Let him say what he wants and don't suspend the guy from a game that might actually attract some casual fans. That's all I have to say.

I REALLY like the Buffalo jersey. I like it so much I may be inclined to buy a blank one just to sport the look even though I don't support the team by any means. I think it's one of the coolest hockey jerseys ever. On another note, the "Bolts" jersey is awful. I don't think they'll sell a single one. I actually think that might be the worst jersey of all time, save that Canucks atrocity once upon a time. EDIT: haha, actually, if anyone knows where to get the buffalo jersey for cheap, let me know. I don't know if it's possible to get it cheaper blank or whatnot.

I bet Kenny Holland is rolling around in bed every night trying to figure something out. Haha.

I just realized I don't know much about what goes into picking hall of famers. I know there is a committee, but is there a formal process? Or is it a bunch of hockey buffs sitting around shooting the s***? Can anyone provide some insight? Because I think the more subjective it is, the less Ozzie has a chance to get in, for obvious reasons.

I think to get our goaltending back in shape, two things have to happen. One, Ozzie needs some competition for his job. I think that's the only way to snap him out of his hangover. And two, the D has to get back into form. However, I think the poor play from the D and the goaltending is because one effects the confidence of the other. Soft goals make the D panic more and the D coming off weak makes the goalies panic and let more softies in. Eventually the pendulum has to swing one direction and either Ozzie or the D are going to have to tighten up their game. Then I think everything will snap back into place. Hopefully in time for the playoffs.

I'd give Franzen the A. He's got just as much goals as the big 3, which is fantastic and beyond what we expect of him. He doesn't have as many points, but his role isn't in assists anyway. If you give the big 3 A's, you gotta give the mule an A.

He was literally sweeping the floor with that one. That's the most mule-like goal anyone could score. GOO FRANZEN!!

I am for this change. Mostly because I find the brand of hockey that Giguere plays to be completely boring. I've watched us play that team in so many series and see him make save after save because he's a giant dirty-duck blob of doom. He doesn't ever look like he's doing anything either. I'm on the pro-athletic side of things. Basically, you should look like you're doing something when you make saves!! Look how much more space there used to be: EDIT: found better picture.

Wake up hockeytown, it's time to EARN some wins.

I'm happy we're getting ozzie a little worried about [starter] job security. I think that was what propelled him last year until he got his chance to take over. I don't like what I see from him so far, so this is definitely a plus. Competition for the spot will do the most for the team. Plus, he has a cool mask.

They need to give Chelios a bionic leg (you know, to begin is cyborg transoformation so he can play 100 more years) so that he can whip our defense in to shape. I figure he'll yap everyone into doing the right things.
