If he loses, he hands over Sid the Kid, gagged and bound in brown sack. For that, the bet's on.

I think the biggest impact will be psychological for both the Wings to feel like they aren't a man down, and for the Pens, to know the leading scorer is back. I don't know if he'll be having back to back hat tricks or the like right out of the gate.
-
If he's out for the season, they're probably not saying it because it would be too much of a boost for the opposition to hear their top scorer is out for good. If they say he's getting better, and is getting closer to the ice, the top scorer is still looming.

And I am the Brendan Shanahan. Shanahan says stop wasting your goddamn time.

Get on it!! Let us know what you decode out of it.

I stand by my theory that the Red Wings have forgotten how to play come-from-behind hockey. They were rattled in both of the last games after they found themselves down a goal in sooooo long. They were running around like decapitated chickens after that. We either have to get the first goal today and take control or play with some $#%ing passion and get the lead back with some confidence. My $.02.

LETS GO WINGS!! Wings win it, 9-0 with a hat trick of hat tricks by Dan Cleary. WOOT!
-
No doubt in my mind that it gave them momentum. Because of it they led for the first time in a series in whcih they were being spanked. You don't need Barry Melrose to tell you that. He's still an idiot.

4-3 Wings. We're all gonna be nervous as they pull the goalie at the end. Lidstrom is gonna sweep one out from behind Ozzie after he's beaten to secure the win. Goals by Z, Lidstrom, Raffy, and Holmsie. Let's go Ozzie!! 10-0!!

Whatever it is, it's not good. As already mentioned, they're not saying anything about it for a reason. If it was good news, they would have announced a return date. But they don't want to bring themselves down for Dallas. Sorry guys, I'm a freaking pessimist. I don't think that it's that the results aren't out yet.

TURRRRRR---COOOOOOOOOOO Two things (among many) that I loved about last night's game: 1) They bitched and moaned about faceoffs all night and we were still owning them. They showed that one faceoff where Drapes just manhandled a guy, tying him up, and threw back the puck with his glove. Amazing. And it's so crushing to them to make such a fuss and have it still go sour for you. 2) Dallas was flopping around like fish on the boards over and over. They were out of control and couldn't even find our guys to hit. There were some pretty awesome instances of this. Let them tire themselves out. WHOO! I'm just so pumped, guys.

Seriously. For so long my brain would automatically fill in Stevie's face when I saw the "C" on Lids' jersey. I'm so glad they moved it to the other side, because it helped a lot. Stevie will be the last left sided "C" captain, I say. And GO DATS!!!!! He celebrates like that if he scores on a good play. Which is awesome. It's totally unselfish. He goes nuts when his whole line is involved.

Haha, you're a jerk, but I love it. Good post. I haven't heard much goalie taunting this year. We got the two syllabled goalie name in this series. Let's get on it. I'm gonna start it up in game 2.

Get ready for some hockey. Welcome aboard. I think both teams are a little afraid of the opposition and really hungry. That will make it good.
-
What's funny is once the Wings win, the analysts are all for talking about how "unstoppable" this team is during the pregame of the finals. Then suddenly they can talk about Datsyuk's uncanny skills and how Osgood has been on fire. They're just blind to it until then. I just hope Dallas is ready for a tough series.

Wings in 6. I'll be flying in for game 2!! Let's go wings!!

I think you're missing the point. She's a fan from outside the state. She's trying to fly in and plan her trip. Just looking to see if anyone has info. Plane tickets are expensive short notice.

Hey guys. I'm looking to fly in for game 1 and 2 of round 3 (if we get there). Looking at the schedule, game 1 should be either on May 9th or 10th, right? Is that a safe bet? Does anyone have experience with plane tickets? If I buy in advance and we don't make it, is there a way to refund them? I know usually it's impossible, but if anyone is savvy enough to have an alternate plan, let me know. I don't want to wait until the end of the series to see if we're making it. By then prices would be ridiculous.

I agree with everyone regarding Sammy, but am not hopeful. Is there even a precedent for this? Has Sammy ever been in the doghouse with Babcock? I don't remember ever seeing him as a healthy scratch. As good as it would be for the team, I'm not seeing it happen.

I'm definitely an Osgood believer now. I must admit I wasn't before. Very impressed by him right now. He's aged like a fine wine. P.S. This thread is old news. Be sure you guys check out this site before and after the game for this kind of info: http://redwings.nhl.tv/team/console?type=f...d=849&tab=1

While I still support the decision to have started with Hasek, I think the Wizard of Oz deserves the start for the rest of the series, if not the playoffs. Hasek was trying to coast with a one goal lead, or even a tied game, which makes absolutely no sense. Getting scored two in a row five or six times is a sure fire symptom that your head isn't in the game. Osgood was phenomenal and Nashville hasn't scored on him yet. Ozzie is winning right now, 2 goals to none.

Fellow fans, I just wanted to comment that the second goal of the game was just so damn GOOOD. I hear they're reformatting the alphabet so D goes to Z after that play. It just felt SOOO good to see that. This is the best time of year.
