If you watch the replay of Iginla's goal, he makes it seem like the shot should be going higher than it really is. I think it's from the way he follows through. It was tricky. And as far as Lidstrom's mistakes, if there's anybody that can rebound from a bad game it's him, especially as captain. I don't think we'll be in much trouble in that avenue.

He wasn't even half ready when the puck was feathered to his tape. That shows how little hunger there is there. When you watch Draper take a face-off--that's hunger. I think Lang had thrown in the towel in the last two critical faceoffs, which is absurd.

I'm so sorry you guys. Tonight's loss was totally on me. I had to stay late at the library I and couldn't make it home in time to wear my jersey before I went to my friend's house to watch the game. You break tradition and this is what happens. I'm sure you all did your part and I let you down. Forgive me.

I was so surprised to see Phaneuf rocked like that. Cleary literally went at him with every ounce of soul. I was on my feet. Edit: For the replay, it's at :45 of this.

Like I said last time, the first goal is going to be critical. We all saw how they completely broke down when Dats lasered the first one into the net. I think if the Flames score first, they'll get really physical and fend us off for the rest of the game. Go Wings, be hungry! And what's with Babs keeping Bertuzzi out? It's almost as if he's aggrevating a bull inside his pen before setting it loose with his "I'm not convinced yet."

I just introduced hockey to one of my good friends. We watched the seven game series finals last year and he absolutely fell in love with it. However, he did admit he had trouble seeing where the puck was. I did notice that I was picking up on a lot more things than him. I'd constantly be like, "did you see that?!" and he'd be like, "no?!" He had an interesting suggestion though. He said that the ice should be colored, thinking that would help some how. I'm not really sure why, but I don't think that idea would fly with anyone around here.

The behind the net view was brilliant, watching the puck cycle and such. Hahah, I don't know how I feel about the guy in between the bench. I kept feeling awkward when he kept going on about how piss poor the Flames were playing. I kept wondering, "can't they hear that?!"
-
They have the new element of their roaring building. We're going to have to throw in the new element of a roaring 'Tuzzi. We have to match them on every aspect and keep them down.
-
We got Bertuzzi for a reason so we should put him in the lineup for that reason. Considering the Flames' home record, we're going to need some extra help putting the nails into the coffin.
-
I say the first goal determines the winner and sets the tone for the rest of the series. With that, I'm afraid that Calgary will want it more at the beginning. Come out hungry! Let's go Wings!
-
I think the first goal in Game 2 will be very key in setting the tone for the series. If the Wings can get one early, maybe two, it'll do wonders for locking the mentality of the series in favor of the Wings. We have to come out gunning for an early lead. A 2-0 series deficit will seem like a huge obstacle if we dominate tomorrow like in Game 1.

The sheer size of the guy just gets us riled up. I don't even think the organization had jerseys that big until they traded for him. Also, have you seen our other players? It's a reason to get excited for us.
-
Great read. You could definitely feel that there wasn't as much weight on their shoulders. But that could just be because they scored within 5 minutes and dominated for three periods.
-
Let's hope his return can wrap up the series early. Then we can be sure both him and Zetterberg get the rest they need to be sure they've recovered from their injuries.

Moved to Michigan as a kindergartener. I was randomly flipping through channels when I saw someone lifting an octopus off the ice with their stick. I had no freaking clue what was going on so I asked my dad and he explained. As I got older, I started watching the games. By 5th grade we'd won the first cup. Then we moved away but I kept watching whenever I could.

This is good. It means the boys actually have something to prove this time around.

Set the table, children of LGW, we are serving sweet sweet revenge this time around...
-
Friggen sweet. You got me pumped ten-fold.

Hahaha, so good. Nothing wrong with a little love tap.

The fact that people boo him to this day kind of shows how integral he was to the team and important he was to Red Wings fans. His departure felt like betrayal because people knew how good he was and how much they wanted him to stay. And because he left for personal reasons, it got ugly and stayed that way. Lots of people go on about how ridiculous it is that he did so much for the team and still gets booed. That's an excellent point, but I also understand the opposite viewpoint. When fans love a team and its players so much, it's hard to accept someone's decision to leave it because of personal reasons. It's like believing you have the most awesome family in the world, but watching your favorite brother leave and seek adopted care. It just doesn't make sense to you and it feels like betrayal.

Si vous preferez la francais, il est meilleur de l'appeler "Roberto" Lang, haha. LGW en francais, c'est bizarre.
-
haha, I was at that game. Let me tell you, you can't even imagine how loud they were booing. The video doesn't do it justice.

Dumbest thing you've ever heard another teams fans say

Those threads are probably not okay. It's not just about you and about what others can choose to ignore. It's about how you represent an organization and its entire fanbase. -

I don't like this thread and motion it be removed. How classy do we look with the title of this thread at the top of our page when fans of other teams come to visit? Watch the game, have fun doing it. Red Wings fans can be just as stupid as other fans, so no reason to imply the contrary, which is what you are doing here. -
Someone pm me if they know of a way that I can watch this online.
