I wikipediaed concussions and the only real explanation I can think of for why they might not perform the test immediately aside from a lazy/busy doctor is that they may be administering tests over time to try and detect variations in the readings. I guess a lot of time, professional athletes receive a test prior to the season to get a baseline neurological reading, so that it is easier to determine whether such an injury has occurred during the course of the season. The fact that Franzen didn't mention any of the symptoms when they first appeared supports this because it gave them no time to test for variations in the reading. On the other hand the CBC announcers can't seem to praise the Red Wings enough, namely Datsyuk and Zetterberg. I was going to start a thread on this because it seems like all we do on these boards is talk about how biased the media's opinion of the Wings is, but since I saw this one I decided to compliment CBC here instead. Maybe make this thread one where we talk about good media coverage instead. And yes, I am hijacking this thread because it's been started 100 times before, sorry The Secret.

I think Maltby should be in over Mac. I love Mac, but Malts is better. He's faster and more reliably defensively. The only thing McCarty does that he doesn't is fight and that doesn't do a whole lot of good. Besides, it's not fair to Maltby to have to sit out after being in there for the whole season.

Hopefully this avalanche goal doesn't light a fire under them like last game.

I don't feel bad for the avs at all. The reason everyone else was hesistant to sign Forsberg was BECAUSE he was so injury prone, and now they're all like suprised and s*** because he got hurt. And for Wolski? Oh well. Stay away from Franzen I guess. He will kill you.

I'm a little worried, but I always am. Basically though, I think our defense is capable of handling their forwards. I don't however, think their defense can handle ours. We should take them down.

I was just looking over the defensive scoring stats and noticed that Schneider and Kronwall are having very similar seasons statistically. Schneider has played in one more game, has four more points (all goals though), four more penalty minutes, and is +21 compared to Kronwall's +23. I always kind of figured them as similar players and penciled Kronwall in as kind of his replacement. The scouting reports on players are gone at TSN. That sucks. I'm lazy so I used them a lot. Where else can I find that info, and what's the deal with that?

I guess you can compare Datsyuk to Sakic and Zetterberg to Forsberg because they are both superstars who began playing for their team around the same time but realistically the stats are kinda reversed. I mean, Datsyuk puts up Forsberg type numbers of goals vs assists and Zetterberg puts up Sakic like numbers... I don't know. Maybe I'm looking too much into this.

If Hudler was a cyborg that you could put a turbocharger on then maybe, otherwise I think 30 is a more reasonable goal. He just doesn't have the physical assets right now to be that dominating a player...

I'll admit it does sound like fun but the reality of it is that Matt is in the middle of rebuilding this website and probalby doesn't have the time to set something like that up and even though others may disagree I'm not about to follow a thread all season long following one players quest for 50 goals. I mean, I am a lazy son of a ***** (first post in months, only around two hundred total in like four years or something.) but still....

If he gets stuck in the AHL it won't be too big a loss anyway at that point.

Actually Bertuzzi is pretty fast, especially for his size. I think we should bench Samuelsson straight up and replace him with Bertuzzi on that line. Bert is too talented a player to be getting fourth line minutes.

The past three years I've had a bad feeling and basically called the wings out on losing to each of their opponents that they lost to. I don't have that this year and I think the wings will do well against Calgary. I say wings in 5.

i clicked on this thread thinking we'd be talking about what happens when a player kicks another player with his skate. I'm deeply disappointed in this thread. One time a kid kicked me in the chest with his skate. I slashed him across the arm so hard he immediately clutched his wrist and cried. I got a five minute major for that. He got nothing from the refs, but I wasn't complaining.

I support maltby sitting to be honest. Not only does he have the lowest point total of any of the listed players, he's also a -11. On this team, thats sad.

I kinda have Filpula figured in as a 20 goal 40 assist type guy in the future but then again, I remember thinking the same of Zetterberg when I first saw him so you never know.
