I was more curious once- last year when Franzen was out. I remember him getting punched in the head by Gary Roberts when he came back from the hematoma he had. I wouldn't count on us finding out about his injury until the playoffs are over.

I think having another elite puck moving d-man in this series would make a huge difference for us as well. Watching how anaheim is boxing out our forwards away from the net, having another player back there capable of quarterbacking the offense and allowing our forwards the necessary time to get to the front of the net to possibly pick up a rebound on or deflect a shot from the point would help us generate a lot of offense. Also, people seem to be forgetting that Datsyuk's line pretty much always played as a five man unit with Rafalski and Lidstrom so not having one of those two back there is naturally going to reduce the effectiveness of him and Hossa.

Well we wen't 3-1 against the ducks this season versus Vancouver where we 2-2. vancouver seemed to give us bigger problems all year in the games that I watched, but Luongo didn't really seem to be much of a factor for the most part. (we beat them 6-5 once) I'm not really too concerned about rival goaltending in general right now. Reason being is that we thrive on creating a net front presence that debilitates goalies. The type of game that they may have been successful with and built a reputation upon doesn't have as great a bearing when facing the Wings.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knew where there was a website I could give a live stream for the game tonight. We have to take some stupid school evaluation test in the computer lab and I'd like to have the game on while I do it. Thanks.

I've been most impressed with leino's work down low around the net and the boards. He seems to have a knack for controlling the puck down there and making unbelievable plays. I was worried when first reading about him that he would be another Hudler- while not necessarily bad, it's not what this team needs. It turns out he couldn't be much more different a player than Hudler is, who tends to stay out of traffic and pick his spots. I hope they keep Leino around.

Anyone notice that this gdt says 11/6? It's December now lol.

I was looking over the stats of guys on our team last night and noticed that filpula and cleary are wayyy down there. For the contracts they have, they ought to be doing better. Now, take into account that all of the players above them in points this season are regulars on our powerplay units. Fact of the matter is, I think Filpula and Cleary would be putting up similar numbers to, for instance, samuellson and hudler, if they had the regular power play time that the rest of our top 6 plus hudler has been getting.

I was just looking over the stats at tsn.ca and noticed that every single player on our team is either a minus or at 0 except for Datsyuk, Hossa, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, and Stuart. I just found this very suprising so I thought I would bring it up on these boards to discuss...

On a side note, I've really enjoyed this season. Every game has been close and entertaining.

I suppose this makes sense. It really depends on the hockey market a particular team is in I guess.

At the same time, if he does take long to heal, say the whole 24 days, aren't they cutting into that by not putting him on LTIR right now? For example, say they wait a week to find out what's up before putting him on LTIR, and then he takes the whole 24 days on top of that but is fine right after. If that happens we'll be missing out on this week we didn't put him on LTIR but at a future date. I can't make this seem non-confusing but it's simple...

What the hell are you talking about? I mean, I understand the joke, but Mules are sterile. They can't be studs. And how could you hate Franzen?

Why does everyone think Quincey is that great? I mean, he was solid in limited playing time in the like, one round of playoffs two years ago, but in the preseason and anywhere else he's looked lost out there. I honestly think that he's going to be a bottom pairing guy in the nhl at best. Maybe if he had a better training camp he would have made it as the 8th defenseman on our team or gotten at least some trade value.

So is this knee injury related to the one h got here or is it completely different? I want to know the details on what a career ending knee injury is like with modern medicine and all. I mean, stevie y had some crazy knee surgery and he came back.

So if he doesn't make the team does he have a clause that allows him to return to Finland? I would hate to lose him if he has a lot of potential.

Ya know I kind of feel like that is a possibility as well though. Franzen scored like 20 of his 27 goals in the last like 20 games. What if he retained that torrid pace? He could easily finish with 40 goals if not more.

Eh... Williams has a good shot and he's moderately fast, but he's pretty mediocre at putting his skills to use unless he has some good talent around him. Also, that 58 point season, like over half of those points came on the powerplay.

Have to admire his dedication to the game at least. Yeah he should hang 'em up, but if he comes back again he should be considered for the masterson award imho. And believe it or not, I gained a lot of respect for him when he said he wouldn't sign with the wings because of the rivalry. That's bad ass.

Maybe Lidstrom is a 50% because he is priceless lol

Tampa bay has no defense or goaltending. Their only real good defenseman was dan boyle, and he left. That's why the writer of that article said they were upside down or lopsided or something.
