Williams is as good as anyone else they could have thrown out there. I remember him as being one of top shooters, statistic-wise, that the Wings have when it comes to shootouts.

I think most will agree that he will not instantly start putting up Gordie Howe numbers, but at the very least he will draw attention and free up some ice/time for other players to make plays and produce.

Agreed. From Kronwalls ejection to Ericssons penalty and afterwards, the inconsistencies have made the Wings affraid to lay the body and catch a call.

The Stanley Cup is widely known as" the most difficult trophy to win". The Wings are trying to capture it for a 5th time in 12 years. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

They are horrible at clearing the puck. It seems as though they are always looking to make an explosive pass up ice for a quick short-hander, instead of just flipping the puck into the air and out.
