Hockeytown Red Wings

I thought the US played like trash that period. They didn't play the way they've played the whole tournament. Poor skating, bad passes, and avoidable turnovers. If they're not outskating and creating turnovers, they have no shot. Really, they're playing like a bunch of kids playing in the biggest game of their life. I didn't think Canada played that great either, so luckily, we only find ourselves down one. 40 minutes to get this thing turned around. GO USA!

More athletes, slightly fewer who are participating in hockey. And my brother is older, so I mostly beat up toddlers. Their comebacks are usually pretty weak.

I hated Patrick Roy too, and he never hospitalized anyone (outside maybe his wife). The arrogance of that man was enough. In the sports world, it's just gonna happen. Everyone has teams and players that they "hate". It doesn't have to be personal, and it's rarely rationalized. It's just the way it is. I think the reasons for disliking Crosby are pretty clear. I agree the amount of times his names are brought up around here is a bit overboard. Then again, people bring him up when they hear about him, which is constantly.

Thankfully I don't have to make that distinction. If I were Canadian, I'd be rooting for Canada regardless of Crosby. I suppose I shouldn't hate Claude Lemieux because I've never met him?

I dont know. At that time it was all about flag-waving and loving everything America. What happened was awful, but the months following were some of the best times to be an American in a way. People going out of their way for each other, liberals and conservatives getting along. Another discussion for a different place I suppose. I also agree this matchup is getting more hype. Seems like the hockey outsiders are a little more invested this time.
