Admittedly, I'm being a bit of a dick here. The team with most goals would win, not necessarily points. The final score could be 2-1, with the winning team scoring two unassisted breakaway goals. The losing's team goal coming with 2 assists. Wings win 83-4. People still ***** that we gave up 4 goals.

Yes and no. I agree that it would wrong to mob the guy and maybe freak out his kids. But I don't see anything wrong with being friendly. If you saw a random person on the street and said hi, would that be wrong since you were "bothering" them? By the way, sometime last year I met Rick Nash here on campus. He was standing outside a building, probably before giving some speech to a bunch of people who thought they were gonna meet the point guard of the Phoenix Suns. I said hi, but he probably didn't care for the fact I was wearing a Wings jersey and hat.

I think the Lions should wear the throwback uni's they wore on Thanksgiving every week. Those are sweet....once my boycott on Lions merchandise ends, I'm getting me one of those.

I think a better question would be what player wouldn't want to play for Detroit?

C'mon Sparty! Do it for the Big Ten! I was actually hoping we'd get that game, because I like our chances. As you can tell, I've been scarred by every recent "big" game. Of course the last non conference big game we won was against Texas. I'm talking myself into this...

Definitely agreed. I don't know, maybe these seniors will finally show up for a big game. Maybe Texas will be distraught about missing out on the National Championship game and will play as bad as we do.

Fiesta Bowl vs. Texas. Initial reaction....we're gonna get rolled. Don't get me wrong, I'll show up...but yeah, not too confident.

I'm not disagreeing. It's frustrating as hell to watch. I was just saying, I'm not writing off the playoffs for this team....at least until we go down 0-1 in the first series and all hell breaks loose on these boards.

What's with ice at the Joe lately? It always used to be called the best ice in the league along with Edmonton. Now it seems the pucks bouncing over sticks constantly. Maybe Al lost his passion for the job after Bettman took away his Octopi twirling....damn you Gary! We've got Calgary Wednesday...I'll be hopin to see a little more passion and much better defensive play. And if a goalie could bail us out every now and then (which Conklin did in the second half of the game), that'd be great too.

You would be right about that. But it's also pretty ridiculous to write off a team's playoff chances in December, no matter how bad they're playing now.

Well, they found a way to win. Wasn't pretty yet again, now to look ahead to better play the next game.

Could someone explain to me why Tomas Kopecky takes up a roster spot that could be going to Darren Helm?

I'd like to give the guy a break because he was pretty solid in the playoffs this year, but I've said, "WTF Rafalski?!" more times than anything.

It was 4-2 after two periods last game too. And we know who won that game. This team needs two players from Grand Rapids. Aaron Downey and Jimmy Howard. Aaron Downey so that he can beat people into submission and spark the skaters. Jimmy Howard so he can light a fire under Ozzie and Conklin's asses. Of course because of the waiver rules this won't happen, but I'd like to see it at this point.

McGuffie will probably do a lot better for himself in the Big 12. Don't get me wrong, there are some nasty hitters in that conference as well, but he just ran too upright and seems to small for the Big Ten.
