Yeah, MSU did look bad but at the same time, it was a 1 score game with 5 minutes left. Our offensive line was awful and those two turnovers for scores can't keep happening if you expect to win the Big Ten. Drank with some Sparties before the game though, good people.

I think MSU will definitely move the ball. This defense is much the same as last season's. It's in the redzone that the defense stiffens, forces a Turnover, blocks a FG, etc. Ringer and Claucrick are really good, so I dont expect us to shut them down. However, MSU's defense is all over the place. Good D-line, decent linebackers, and an apparently horrible secondary. As long as we dont make mistakes read: lose the turnover battle), I think we win.

I don't get the love affair with Hudler either. I was very happy to see Downey stick up for his teammates though. How many times were there scrums where a Sharks player was throwing rights and lefts at guys like Zetterberg and Datsyuk? For having the smallest team in the league, we're really not that fast, and outside of when Z and Dats are dominating and making the opposition look like fools, there doesn't seem to be much open space out there for us. Would I like a 6'4 240 lb. guy who can skate and score and fight? Sure, but we don't have that, so I'm hoping Downey is willing to create some space for our players by sticking up for our guys, and taking the opposition's much better players off the ice for five.

I'm not disagreeing with what you said, but were you really surprised that South Florida got shafted?

Why is Tim so up in arms for South Florida? Maybe this weekend the Buckeyes will show him why they're the number one team in the nation. Or maybe not.

OSU hasn't beat anyone yet. But they haven't lost either. When you're closest game is a 23-7 win on the road at night, there's no reason for them not to be number one. And who hasn't been completely overrated this season?

Cal is losing 31-21 to Oregon St. with 4 minutes left and OSU has the ball. Ohio State is about to be the number 1 team in the country, which is cool, but more of a testament to how crazy this season has been.

Because we've played 3 teams from Ohio? At any rate, our real schedule starts now. Michigan State, at Penn State at night, Wisconsin, Illinois, and at M*ch*gan.

I have no idea what to expect from OSU, they'll probably blow. Oh well, a hockey game for 6 bucks...can't beat that.

Usually I hate these threads, but this is really cool, so I figured I'd post it. My roommate's brother just came to Ohio State as a freshman and is living in the dorms. His roommate, is Gordie Howe, grandson of none other than Mr. Freakin Hockey. Apparently he was partying in my house with me last week and I had no idea, but I'm planning many hockey nights watching Center Ice in my room with Gordie. I mean, Gordie Howe's grandson has been in my room....that blows my mind.

I just bought Center Ice today...no listening on the radio for me this season!
