6 Big Ten Championships in a row. That's fun. The game Saturday? Pretty boring. I really hope Michigan gets their s*** together. The rivalry is less fun for sure. There was a time when beating Michigan by 30 would have brought an overwhelming euphoria. I would have been watching the highlights with tears in my eyes for months afterwards. I feel like I've been cheated of all that. -

That was the Lions we all know and love. It didn't hurt me nearly as much as the Jets game did though. I'm used to Lions taking a collective dump at midfield for 60 minutes. -

I thought everyone hated Gary Thorne? I love him too. He's the voice of my childhood and so many amazing Wings moments. I love Ken Daniels. He has a passion in his voice in big moments that can be paralelled by few. Just watch Cleary's goal in Game 7 against Anaheim. s*** tears me up everytime. Crosby won the fight. Of course he picked out the smallest guy on the ice, but he won. Even if he picked his spot, he did throw down and props for that. But he only picked a fight he knew he would win. I liked it. Other people are more PC.

Lions win an ugly game over the Skins, 37-25. A lot of mistakes and missed opportunities, but down in the 4th quarter, the Lions didn't crumble and actually rose to make the big plays. Suh and Calvin with monster games. For once, we win a game because of our defense. Can't remember the last time I said that. -
So does anyone else hope Lidstrom comes back next season?

Kirk Maltby to announce he is retiring

My favorite Maltby memory was in 2002. It was in Game 5 against the Blues and the Wings were shorthanded. Maltby's stick breaks, but we're being held down in our own zone, so Malts goes on to throw himself all over the ice blocking at least 4 shots and I believe cleared the zone himself. The entire Joe was on their feet screaming, "MALTBY! MALTBY!" at a level that has only been heard before as "STEVIE! STEVIE!". -
