Larkins game is entirely predicated on his speed. Bertuzzi's is not. I'd be much more worried about Larkin losing that advantage than Bert. Both will have to adapt their playstyles in their 30s, but I don't see some mysterious advantage that Larkin has over Bert when it comes to aging. I'm A-Ok with trading Bertuzzi, Vrana, and Hronek. The only reason Larkin didnt join them is because Holland and SY both have failed to draft any C remotely ready enough to replace him. Its just nice to see the Bruins fans appreciating that they got a real special player in Tuzzi.

Again, not really his thing. Sure, he hustles to the boards, but I wouldn't say he excels at board battles. Bertuzzi is, IMO, probably one of the most wrongly typecast players in the NHL (by fans). Fans seem to have this underlying reputation for him of being a gritty, tough, board battler, who hits and scrums and goes to the dirty areas. Mickey's "junkyard dog". He's really none of that, besides having the nads to go to the dirty areas. What Bertuzzi excels at is hustle, fearlessness - but most importantly - having galaxy brain hockey IQ/instincts. Sure he works hard, and isn't afraid to block a shot, or go to the front of the net, but you can say the same thing about 100+ other bottom-6ers across the league. What sets Bert apart is he is a step ahead of most of the league. He reads and reacts to plays better than most of the league. He scores goals because he's in the right place at the right time. He collects pucks because he's in the right place at the right time. You know who was exactly like that? But wasn't the best skater in the world? Zetterberg. And I'm not saying bErTtUZzi iS LiTerAllY zEtTErBErg, I'm just saying players with high IQs survive in this league longer than some realize. This isn't Abdelkader we're talking about. Bertuzzi is more similar to Larkin or Raymond than I think anyone feels obliged to admit. And if he's only 1.4 years older than Larkin, you should be expressing the same concerns about Larkin, who's game relies much more on his speed than Bertuzzi's does. They've moved him to the top line with Pasta now, and those two have found a lot of instant chemistry together. If the Bruins keep him we're going to be talking about a PPG Bertuzzi next year.

Larkin is only 1.4 years younger than Bert. And Bert really doesnt play the hard hitting style that most percieve him too, other than getting the unlucky blast in the hand once in a while.

But some of them are also looking at him cautiously. Thinking that, if they re-sign him next year, he'll go right back to being a shid head once he has his contract. So they may use him as trade bait at the TDL next year. Bruins fans are over the moon about Bertuzzi. Saying he's a super intelligent player that never takes shifts off, and exactly what they needed up front. They're debating right now how they're going to keep him in Boston. Many suggesting they should let Orlov walk or ship out Taylor Hall to make room for him. Canucks fans are hillarious. They think SY may have bamboozled them with Hronek. And that they paid a premium for damaged good. For reference they got Hronek injured. Cleared him for 4 games. Then shut him down again, this time for the season.
