Jimmy is so ******* awful its unbearable. So much worse than Ozzy was at beginning. The thing I find odd is that they experimented with Toddd Bertuzzi on the broadcast and I didn't think he was that bad. But now they're sticking with Jimmy and it's textbook awful. Bring back Todd.

If Lalonde would reign Chiarot in, daddy Ben would look a lot better. He was always a depth stay at home Dman with Atlanta/Winnipeg. Then he goes to MTL and finally gets his shot, and proved to be a great partner for Weber in the top pairing. But then he gets traded to FLA for a 1st and finally signs his big contract with Detroit, and now he thinks hes a big shot two way Dman like Kronwall or something. Lalonde needs to tell him he has helm hands and better start throwing his fat ass around in the Dzone again or hes gonna get waived like Vrana and Ned.

Kraken didnt even do much this offseason. Added a few wingers same as us. The difference has been they inserted a future superstar 1C into their lineup in Beniers. Hes taking the Calder home this year and it wont even be a competition. Its almost like we should be doing everything in our power to get one of those.

I was listening to a Toronto guy talking about how the Leafs have focused on emphasizing vertical control between their NHL and AHL teams. They are essentially forcing the Marlies coach to mimic Keefe's systems to a T. The idea being that when they call someone up they will already know exactly how to play and can contribute effectively immedately. Not sure if we are in the right phase of our team for this. The obvious downside to this strategy is your AHL personel could vary wildly to your NHL roster, therfore you could be using your AHL players ineffectively in the AHL. And you also have to effectively neuter your AHL coach. Otherwise it makes sense to do. When it comes to goalies, just stop drafting them. Problem solved.

I think we should look more at what SY is NOT committed to. This roster is still as lean and flexible as humanly possible. Our contract commitments beyond next year: F: Copp Fabbri D: Chiarot G: Husso SY is hardcore keeping his options open. He's committed very little to any single player. He can overhaul his roster on a yearly basis basically if he wants to. Take whatever you want from that.

Ned clears Goalie situation not as promising as it was this summer. Hellberg is our 2nd best and he wasnt even on our roster this summer. Husso has returned to earth. Cossa looks worse than Walstedt. GR goalies all awful. I wonder what SY does this offseason. If Ned doesnt return to form soon im guessing he will go shopping for a replacement. Someone more reliable than Ned and Hellberg.

I really don't expect SY to trade anyone with term at this point in time. Vrana is heading to a buyout. If we're keeping Larkin, I'd like to also re-sign Bertuzzi, Sundqvist, and Walman. Then sell high on Maata, and get what you can for Erne and Oesterle. None of our other pendings have any value IMO. If we are not keeping Larkin, then go scorched earth and trade everyone. Ive read lots of speculation that Larkins deal doesnt get done till summer. I think it will be safe to assume that any pendings (with value) without a contract at the TDL, and that dont move at the TDL, are guys SY wants to re-sign. It will be butt hole clenching if SY goes this route and rumors will swirl, but I dont think SY will lose assets like Bert and Larkin and Walman to UFA.

Based on recent interviews Jakub Vrana confirmed that he is the only Wing that lives in downtown Detroit. I also have friends who can confirm that Seider and Marc Staal were living in the Birmingham area. Traditionally the Wings have always lived in the Bloomfield/Birmingham area. And we know that Seider has been to Texas Roadhouse for a pregame meal with Walman. So I think it's safe to assume Jake most likely lives north of 96 and west of 75. This being the case, there's only one Texas Roadhouse he could be eating at: The Texas Roadhouse by the Red Oaks golf course in Madison Heights. The ONLY other TRH's in metro Detroit are in Novi, Canton, and St Claire Shores. Wayyy to out of the way. And the one in Madison Heights is right off of 75 on the way into downtown. Therefore, if you go sit at the bar at this TRH in Madison Heights on a game day, you can more than likely enjoy a quality USDA choice sirloin and casual conversation with the Walgod. Someone do this and report back.

Walman is halbjude. Only his mom is jewish. Back in the day he'd be banned from the tribe for this, but the hybrid vigor gives his body the ability to process pork. Essentially he has all the strengths of both a christian and a jew, and none of the weaknesses. Surrender to him.

I dont disagree. The problem with playing him on the top pair is eventually, if he stays there long enough, his stats are gonna get unaturally boosted and youre going to have to pay him like a top pair. But I think he can be a solid top4 for us if he keeps playing like this. A non-R-slurred Brendan Smith is a great comparison.

The Chiarot-Hronek pairing has been a disaster so far. Before this Maata-Hronek looked great. Chiarot-Seider wasnt terrible, but it certainly wasnt good. Now Walman-Seider look great. Walman-Oesterle was an overlooked great 3rd pairing, much better than Hagg-Lindstrom, and now Walman-Seider looks great too. Connecting some dots here... everywhere Chiarot has been inserted in the lineup the pairing has gotten worse. Everywhere Walman has been inserted the pairing has gotten better. The problem i have with Chia is he hasnt been playing the way i expected him to. He thinks hes big man on campus two-way Dman. What I wanted him to do was basically active rest in the ozone and then be a physical beast in the Dzone. Lalonde needs to reign him in. But i doubt he will anytime soon... took him a half a season just to realize Chia-Seider sucked as a pair.

Ben Simon scratched Vrana in the AHL... At least Mantha is being scratched in the NHL... It's the veterans rule, but all this means is Simon valued Lashoff over Vrana in his lineup. This is too much. This kid is toast.
