I don't think it's the right time yet. I do think it's the right time to target big fish UFAs. Instead of signing 5 future trade pieces. Sign one or two guys you really like. Then sell Kubalik and Perron. Let the kids grow. Then sell Fabbri and Maata. Let the kids grow. Then ask sensei for forgiveness and go all out. I think the next two seasons SY will be looking for his kids/team to prove they deserve it. If they do in a big way at any point, then the switch gets flipped. I honestly completely disagree. Wasting mad assets on a another Bertuzzi/Vrana level forward after we just sold those players would be impulsive and idiotic. I'm only for it in a steal situation. Or it's a foundational superstar piece. Anything else is a waste. And for the record, I don't buy into the "Red Wings dont have superstars we're a depth team" gong show theory. How do we get Gudas? He's coming off $2.5 mil and will be 33 in June. His previous contract was $3.5. IMO the important part is keeping the term small. Offer $3 x 2? Do you think the lack of Dmen on the open market will drive his cost/term higher than this?

Other than that it was Gary and his few lil ball pullers. If theyre claiming 20 they are lying. Which begs the question what else are they lying about in this process? And at the end Gary instructs them all not to leave the room or communicate the results until they have been broadcasted. Yet Kevin Weekes knew and revealed the results b4 the card was even pulled. Weekes was not present during the lottery process. So is their leaker in the trusted room? Or was the whole lottery process just an act?
