Longer term would be higher and shorter would be lower but Id take both at 8x8.5 all day. I agree just hope both get locked up longterm rather than bridge.
-
I probably would to tbh but point was they werent trading him for 2 23 year old players that have done nothing in the NHL.
-
This should be in bold predictions thread.
-
MBN is already 6'1 over 200lbs. Hes one of our more phycally developed prospects which is why he might be fast tracked. Pronman ranked our u23 players 14th in the league. 1. Raymond 2. Danielson 3. Edvinsson. 4 ASP 5. Kasper 6. MBN 7. Cossa 8. Mazur 9. Buium 10. Augustine I think this is going to be a really good core and Corey is sleeping on a few of them namely MBN and Mazur.
-
Neither of them are of the same value as Yager. Would you given up Kasper because thats more of the caliber theyd be looking at.
-
Of course Yzerman isnt going to say Edvinsson is on the team but we all know its his spot to lose. Hes easily a top 4 dman on this team. He would have to forget how to skate to not be on this team and even then hes probably still better then a few dmen on this team. I stand by what I said Ajo is more likely to be waived then Big E being sent down.
-
Edvinsson will be on the team. Its more likely they waive AJo then demote Big E again.
-
Team friendly deals would be in that $16-17m range imo anything under that would be a steal. Regardless of cap constraints a move needs to be made to make room for another forward. We cant have only 12 forwards and 8 dmen/3 goalies. 1 of Maatta/Holl/Husso will likely be moved and 1 of Danielson/Mazur/Kasper whichever impresses the most in camp will be on the team.
-
My top 3 are pretty well locked my debate was between 4,5,6. With so many having ASP as top 2 its not easy to have him 5 or lower but I might have Kasper/Mazur ahead of him. Hot maybe dumb take.
-
I agree with all of this. Im not as high as most on ASP and much higher on our forwards then most maybe biased. 1. Edvinsson 2. Danielson 3. MBN 4. ASP 5. Kasper 6. Mazur 7. Wallinder Im intrigued also by Buium and Becher.

Wasnt Ras drafted to be a net front on the pp?
-
I agree offersheets are not a good idea. What would it cost to get Nikishin out of Carolina? Id think a lot but man itd be fun to watch Nikishin-Seider as the top pair for the next decade.
-
McGroarty yes please. Truscott no thanks.
-
If everyone on the roster is healthy a dman or tendy will be traded, waived or bought out. Yzerman isnt going into the season with 12 forwards, 8 dmen and 3 goalies. Somethings gotta give. 1 of these is likely the scenario. Both only if we need the extra cap space to add a top 4 right dman. which I hope happens.
-
Where would McGroarty rank among our prospects? He was picked 6 spots after Kasper is he ahead of Kasper? Is he ahead of Danielson? Mazur? Id like Yzerman to step up and get him but whats his floor/ceiling? top 6 winger? top line winger?
-
Dont think Buffalo woulda traded within division otherwise Veleno probably woulda gotten it done. Big upgrade but I agree that we dont really need any more small skilled wingers. I dont mind missing out on Savoie I just hope we dont miss out on McGroarty when hes traded out of Winnipeg.
-
Must be confusing with brother Carter also with the Oilers. Both small wingers Matt has top 6 ceiling Carter likely doesnt ever make it.

Hockeyallsvenskan/SHL scout Jonathan Hedstrom ranked MBN as the 5th best acquisition of the SHL this season says hes "something of a young Alex Ovechkin-lite. A forward with enormous upside. A sharpshooter with skill who competes hard". He wont be Ovi but as a player comp stylistically it makes sense. MBN plays like a bull in a china shop and has an elite shot. Anyone not excited about this pick isnt paying attention just listening to the talking heads "its another typical safe Yzerman pick". I hope its another Seider/Raymond/Edvinsson/Kasper/Danielson pick all looking like good-great players. "Shoulda picked upside". MBN oozes upside.

Every year fans think there teams players will get claimed on waivers and every year better players then AJo go unclaimed.
-
I dont think either will be waived. Therell be a spot for Ed in the top 4 and AJo will be the 6/7 dman by Oct. But if one had to be waived it would be AJo and no he wouldnt be claimed. Hes a dime a dozen dman that almost every team has in there system nothing special. Hes top 3-4 no question.
-
You mean the 18 year old thats behind about 7 other forward prospects? Edvinssons on the team no chance he gets sent down. AJo would be waived before Big E 2.0.
-
Seider/Ray are not preventing Yzerman from any signings. Most contracts being signed today like every fa day are bad-awful.
-
Why? Wings dont need a small left dman.

replace damaged good with s***bag below. Its come out that gms didnt know about Walman+2nd being on the table and some said they would have been interested. Imo some woulda been interested in less then a 2nd. That quote was from this article https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-waiver-rules/ not something I pulled from my ass. Im just trying to make sense of what happened. Maybe we never will or maybe there is more to the future considerations that will be revealed in the coming days/weeks.
-
Im not arguing that he could be damaged goods Im arguing that its unreasonable to think every gm knew it forcing Yzerman to attach a 2nd round pick just to get rid of him but not a single member of the media knew it. That super big solid isnt even that big a solid considering he got a serviceable dman on a good contract and a 2nd round pick. That should be the going rate to move a bad contract - aka Justin Holl.
