http://www.nhl.com/impact/march08_issue.html So far ahead that they decided to start the top 10 after him.
-
My opinion is not based on the fact that he was a Wing, in fact I named other players like Stevens and Roy who were not wings. How can you say it was not media driven?? Every article back then was how he could lead. He played for New York...The journalists there...ahhh nevermind.

Messiers leadership was influenced more by the media than anything else. Real team Captains stick with their teams no matter what (ala Stevie, ala Sundin), Messier changed teams a few times. Messier was a great leader but there are many ahead of him. Stevie<--Sacrificed body, and personal points.(had he not sacrificed his production, all of Gordies records would have been shattered). Maurice Rocket Richard<--Sacrificed body, and relentless humiliation. Patrick Roy <-- Did not sacrifce anything, but when he was on, the team always followed. Mats Sundin<-- Potential move that could make him a Champion. I hate to say it but Scott Stevens<--Sacrificed body. All these guys sacrificed More money, their Health, glory, and in Stevies case was asked to give up his point production in order for the team to acheive greatness. Yes, Messier did it accomplish alot and sacrificed nothing. Messier did make a prediction once that his team would win and he guaranteed it and he provided it. Messier was put on teams that were stacked, pasted a C on his jersey, and asked to lead. (no one else could have done that)

When you think of team captain the first name that comes to mind is Stevie.

Reminds me of a thread that had alot of people picking Messier over Stevie. Not to knock Messier but.... Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie

Well, Hold on a second. What if your out in the wilderness and all you have is some rope and your sharpened steel blade on the bottom of your skate. Do you still only use it for skating??? Don't mind me, I'm just being an ass!
-
He's a marked man. He won't get away with much in the playoffs (Darren ma'boy). Someone should just wrap a stick around his head and do everyone a favor.
-
#1 Stevie Forever #2 Maurice Rocket Richard (only Non Red Wing) #3 Shanny #4 Vladdy #5 Probert

I really hope they sacraficed the chicken before the game. If chicken sacrificed Wings win 7-1 If not Wings win 3-2
-
Here we go 7-1 Wings

I'm with you. I can't beleive the idiot comments that have been popping up nevermind all the stupid speculations.

The Wings are second in the league in goals only to the Sens. I didn't know that Being first in the league in goals scored was so important. I don't think thats what he's there for, but he may add a little confidence to players like Dats and Zetta knowing that theres a price to pay if players try to take liberties on them.

Hi, Sorry to bug you all with this, I can't find any info on our injured players expected return dates. Does anyone know a good place where to obtain this information or should we just use this thread as an update thread?? Status: Lidstrom----?-----eta? Chelios----?-----eta? Kronwall----?-----eta? Rafalski----?-----eta? Cleary----?-----eta? Thanks

LOL so funny i did it twice!! No really. Thats weird double post hmmm.
-
Wings who else!!! Our team will soon be the dominating force again. Our 2 new additions will pay off huge in the playoffs. We needed toughness so they added Stuart and D-Mac. No more liberties on our skilled guys. What we didn't need was Hossa to break up our chemistry. Alot of teams don't realize that these huge additions take time to gel and means a lot of shuffling. What Holland did today was Fantastic. All he did was slightly tinker with our defence. What we gained was more puck possession and a big body to help fill the void left by Jiri. Many teams lost alot today and some teams gained. Today the wings gained and gave up very little(if anything).
-
Close this thread!!!! It's pointless.
-
Stupid Thread!! Holland did the right move. WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER SCORER!!!!!!!!!!!!! we needed sandpaper. We got sandpaper Stuart, D-mac. Geeeeezzzzz. Close this thread please.
-
NO! we did not. We lead the league or are close to in goals scored. We needed a tough D-man and we got one along with D-mac were fine.
-
Actually Holland is the Best GM in the league. He didn't sell the team for a cup run. Decisions aren't made only with him.
-
Alot of people on this board are going to be pissed if Hossa goes elsewhere. Whats the scoop on Olli?

I've just heard from a very reliable source (eklunds mother) that he always ate s*** as a kid thats why he's so full of it...This is an E5 rating.
