Lids is by far the best D-man in the league and has been for quite some time. He will get top dollar. Whatever that may be 8.5 , 9, 10 whatever. Every team in the league given the opportunity would do it and Lids knows it. The thought of him taking anything less is simply a dream. He does have a loyalty to the team but a voluntary reduction in salary is ludicris. I know I love the organization I work for but I wouldn't take a pay cut for them. Then there is also the bloodsucking player agents that demand top dollar "its Lids Duty" to drive up the market for the future of the NHLPA. Just my thought I may be wrong<-----

I spoke to Dandy abour 7 months ago, I asked him if he missed the wings and he responded " I love playing here in Montreal but I have some really nice rings from Detroit" I liked Dandy too, but I think that we are fine on D.

I'm sorry to say.. you are dead wrong. The "7 Years" does not have to be followed by the new owner. The rule is that after attempts have been made to make the team competitive and promotions have been made to lure fans and does not work, Balsillie will have the right to control the destiny of the team(of course with league approval). Nashville has already done all they can to attract fans and yet low attendance. They cannot force the team to remain there and make balsillie take a loss for the next 7 years thats totally ridiculous . They will be there this year and maybe the next but then bedeeyah bedeeyah thats all folks.

This is NOT my opinion I read an article yesterday in the Montreal Gazette Written by Bob Duff from Canwest and he blames Zetta and Dats for Detrots exit from the playoffs. He writes that because of their lack of production on the road that it spelled disaster for the Wings. :looney: Hey Bob did the wings eliminate your flames or something??
