I'm very surprised by that but I also wouldn't be shocked if Garth Snow told him he'd make him captain if he signed there.

Every GM in the league will be watching the arbitrations, though I doubt the Wings will make a move. I'd rather see us get one more D-man (Markov preferably) to solidify that area. Like Holland said, he has to leave the club room to get Z's extension taken care of.

It's pretty obvious what is going on. Lang and Calder were told they weren't going to be offered contracts. Buh-bye. Bertuzzi got far more than the Wings were rumored to be offering him. Obviously given the back injury they were not comfortable throwing $4M a season at him. No clue why Dom's deal hasn't been completed. I just hope Kenny is looking at another forward because the Wings can't stand pat after resigning Hasek (whenever that happens).

Very disappointed to see him go. I spoke to my buddy last night (he used to work in marketing for the Ducks) and he said everyone within the organization says it's a done deal that Selanne and Niedermayer are retiring.

Absolutely heartbreaking. We had the series and let it slip away. Now the Lucky Ducks are playing for the Cup. I'm way too bummed out to even dissect the series right now.

Forget a guy like Gomez LGWers. Too pricey. Lang will be back if he can be had on the cheap.

Hasek was amazing for us this season. He was the rock we needed back in net BUT at his age, the Wings need to look to the future. They need to make a play at Giguere to stabilize the net for years to come and let Howard be his backup.

I'm physically ill by this loss. The Wings just cannot buy a break. They completely outplayed the Ducks and lost. But the Wings have had a lot of chances and have not capitalized. The Ducks have capitalized and thus the 3-2 hole they find themselves in. And again, how does Dats get called on that one? Borderline at best.
