someone, I think eva, mentioned that Chelios would be gone next year, giving us cap room. First of all, he's only making around 900k, correct? Secondly, with his play this year, and his desire to play until he's 50, do you HONESTLY believe he won't be a part of our top four next year? Word, LDi03 Oh, and Tkachuk sounds good. LANG, Hudler, and Osgood on the other hand...Bottom line is, we're weak on the wings, and terribly strong down the middle. (not muscle-wise, obviously). Shanahan is extremely valuable to this team at this point in time.

I would never ever do that trade, solely because we're unloading Shanahan. This season, he's lighting it up. I'm not too concerned with the next few seasons, as long as he continues his pace right NOW. Bertuzzi hasn't done jack this year. Word, LDi03

I am very surprised that people on this thread are even thinking that this is a fair trade. I would do this if I were Holland in less than a second. Less than a thousanth of a second. Getting two future phenoms of the game in Bouwmeester and Luongo in the dawn of their careers for a backup, a could-be-effective-NHLer and a current mediocre power forward (mediocre for the definition of power forward, excellent otherwise, I love Lang) seems like an amazing trade for the Wings to make. I wonder if FLA would take it on NHL2k5? Hmm, I believe I am about to find out. Word, LDi03

Well, I would like to see a really really ballsy trade sometime soon. And, this would be it, but the problem is, in trading both Draper and Maltby, our PK is lacking in a big way. That also trades away the two important components of our checking line, not to mention two extreme fan favorites for a guy who this town absolutely hates. Not to mention the fact that our players probably also do. Not to say that I wouldn't make the trade, though. Because, I would. If we could get one more proven checking line player, that is, or find a way to not trade either Drapes OR Maltby. Word, LDi03

The least plausible is probably Chaisson. He's sort of dead. Maybe Vladdy after that, but I'm starting to wonder if a corpse would be more effective than a man in a wheelchair.
