If he made a big comeback and carried the team a little deeper than the first round that would be nice and all. Wouldn't it be tragic though if he struggled all season and then got bumped in the knoggin' during a first round loss and then went the way of Keith Primeau?

I missed the chance to see Abdelkader in action. How has he looked?
-
I think if he plays before next season, it's a mistake. It's taken him forever to recover. I don't think he should risk his whole career on an underdog playoff run.

The "D-struction Line"? Eh? Eh?

Apparently Todd Bertuzzi has not learned from history that "I was just following orders" is not a defense. Then again, perhaps he is just a simpleton.

I'm with Harold here. I've lost all faith that the league is willing, or even capable, of handing out anything like real justice. Campbell isn't answerable to anyone and it shows.
-
I thought he was an RFA this year? I think we're worried about loosing him to a mammoth offer sheet, not to free agency.
-
What I love is that 93% of the people voting on the "should he be suspended" poll think he should. How does this not sink in for Colin "Crackhead" Campbell?
-
TSN has already confirmed that he's not getting squat.

Seriously, Chris Pronger is probably the only NHLer that can make me so furious that I'd not shed a tear if he was beat down. I'm not in favor of outrageous violence, nor do I like to wish injury, but if the league refuses to put him in his place then what? We're just supposed to endure him like Job?
-
So the league is basically condoning an action that could have brutally injured one of it's players. Fire Colin Campbell. Maybe we could give Downey his job. Isn't he into doling out justice? What a freaking joke this league is.
-
If Pronger doesn't go down for this one then league discipline is really a joke. This has to be on tape somewhere....it has to be.

I think you can't ignore the main point of that article, which is that Draper and Maltby both seem to have lost a step. They are negative +/- players, slower, and not scoring. It wasn't that long ago that Draper was scoring all over the place. Something has happened and I'm afraid it might just be the atrophy that comes with time.
-
This is the best news I've heard all day. Now if we can just get the Joe to play Oh Danny Boy when he scores.
-
Since the last word on Mac was an injury, I'd be surprised if we see him play. I think we'd get an update on the injury telling us he was ready to go first. He hasn't even practiced with the team, so I don't see him playing.
-
TSN stats: I love Kirk Maltby. I'd like to preface by saying that. However, we can't really deny that he has lost his game a bit since the lockout. Is it simply that Malts relied too much on the kind of obstruction that is now called? Has he just lost a step? How do we explain the dramatic decline of his +/- when his role on the team has not really changed?

Wikipedia American Anthropological Association Now...anymore on race can go to the WC. PS: Jovo is never going to win the Norris and Don Cherry is an amusing lunatic. Let's get back on topic.
-
Ok, I can't believe I'm doing this but: Racism relates to race. Race is a an incredibly problematic category because it does not exist in reality. Race is solely a cultural construction with no genetic reality. Thus, the idea of race is very fluid, meaning that a person who would be considered african american in the US (due to our propensity toward the "one drop" rule) would not be considered black in a more racially complex country like Brazil. That said, even if race did exist, Cherry's bias against Europeans would not be racism. It cannot be racism because it is predicated on nationality and not race. Even in a world where race is accepted as a category, it is not commensurate with nationality. There. Sheesh.

That was a great game. It was fast. There were some good hits and a nice number of goals. Great game, all told. Crosby is not soft. He barrels right into traffic all the time, gets knocked on his bum and gets right back up and does it again. He takes a beating and keeps on going. Calling him out for failing to hit like Scott Stevens is just silly. Hitting is not always the answer, especially when it's reckless. For example, Ovie took a run at Malkin during this game at one point. He came in fast and furious, Malkin saw him coming and moved enough that Ovie basically took himself out along the boards and took the worst of his own hit. The best hockey play is not always "Gronk Smash".

$100??? seriously? That's nothing. Why not just say, "The team in question will be told they are very, very naughty?" It would amount to the same thing.

I'd absolutely love to see Wings/Habs in the final. That would be so great. Think of all the cool old footage they almost have to show!
