Ah, we posted nearly simultaneously so I didn't see that. Generally, I associate the "player respect" issue more with cheapshotting and less with trash talking. I could care less what players say to each other. That's between them and their consciences.

Low scoring games have never bothered me. I just want to see a good contest.

That's absurd. A person is just as accountable for what they do on the ice. Playing hockey is not a free ticket act like an animal. I guess someone could Chris Simon you in the face or deliver a patented Bertuzzi Back of the Head Knecksnapper and it would all be cool as long as they apologized afterwards? No dice.

Yeah, man seriously! Pronger's mandible is just so darn big and freakish that you can't really hit him at all without nailing it! Frankly, it's just as dangerous for the hitter as it is for him!

Hmm...Pronger, eh? Well since his jaw bone is probably 3x the size of a normal human's, I don't really think he has anything to worry about. Also....you know...taste of his own medicine etc whatnot.

Let him sit in the AHL next year, barring injuries. The Wings develop prospects slooooooowly. A good team player will accept that. He's available if we need him and he can hone the finer points of his game in the meantime.

Any comparison with Downey is just silly. I rather doubt the blueshirts would have Downey centering Jagr's line, no matter how much of a drought he was in.

This is dumb. I also think it is the sort of panic move that gives the lie to Ottawa's claim to being a Stanley Cup contender. No real contender is making emergency moves like this at this late a date.

Ericsson is much better served by playing big minutes in GR. There's no waiver danger to send him on down. Meech, on the other hand, has been a real eye-opener the last few games. This kid is a real gamer. I don't know if he's guaranteed himself a more regular spot but he's definitely pushing our normal starters.
