I love the underdog so I'm rooting for the Habs here, but I do have mixed feelings about it. For one thing, I don't particularly dislike the Caps; they're fun to watch. For another, I want Pittsburgh to lose, and the Caps have been one of the better teams so I'd like to have them in the back pocket in case Pittsburgh advances. But man, the Caps really do look like the 2005-2006 Red Wings.

Down 0-2, I think the Sharks might have folded. I just looked at last year's results and they lost the first two games to Anaheim. This year, I don't know if Colorado has enough to beat them. The Sharks have a habit of losing games where they outshoot the opponent, but it's not like they're just taking weak, perimeter shots or something. They're getting tons of scoring chances.

I was hoping the refs would let them play in the 3rd, but so much for that. Kronwall always seems to be on the ice when the Wings are hemmed in their own end like that.

<br /><br /><br />He's nothing of the sort. He's playing a hard nosed, physical game. Not dirty at all. He's firing up his team. The Wings problem is they need to bring that same kind of intensity to their own game. They're being knocked around like rag dolls out there. Go out and put the f**king guy into the boards a few times and steal some of that mojo back.

It looks like the ice surface is horrendous as usual. I expect that to hamper the offense and create the offsides and sloppy play. But it shouldn't hurt the PK.

<br /><br /><br />Yeah, I think the Pens take this one still. For all the bashing, Crosby really did play well tonight. He's almost impossible to get off the puck, he's so strong. I'll be pulling for Ottawa, though. If they're going to lose, I hope they extract a huge toll on the Pens in a long series, at least.

YEAH!! Tremendous effort by Zetterberg and nice work by Cleary and Stuart on the GWG. All tough teams, all on the west coast, but Phoenix is less battle tested in the playoffs so this was the best matchup in my opinion.

Detroit's defense is sleepwalking out there today. Even Rafalski and Lidstrom have been brutal.

I can't remember the last time I had so much confidence that a Detroit goaltender would match even the hottest opposing goaltender save for save. Jimmy seems to thrive on it and he rarely blinks first in these low scoring games. The kid is just playing fantastic right now.

What concerns me most is that the Wings did absolutely nothing for Osgood today. It makes me question how much they really suppport him. He hadn't started a game in over 2 months, you'd think they'd try to do something special for him. It's like the whole team has soured on the guy.

Holy Jimmy Howard! I'm so glad that the Wings won that game. I'm sure Preds fans are feeling crappy that their goalie played that well and lost, but better them than us.
