Mike Commodore with the -4, 0 points and a slashing penalty. Mike Babcock says, SUCK IT.

It's great to see the bad puck luck turn around for the Wings, but man, this is some of the worst goaltending I've seen at the NHL level in a long time.
-
Snowman on the board!

Murph is so freakin' strange. His awkward body movements, the psychotic smile, the inability to modulate his voice correctly; I am uncomfortable whenever I watch him. I'm always hoping he doesn't act too weird. I really think he's drunk some of the time.

Wow! The scoring chances are ridiculous. Look at all the space the d-men are getting to take shots from the point. Do the Blue Jackets have the flu running through the team? This doesn't look like a Ken Hitchcock coached team.
-
For a first place team playing its supposed big rival, the Blue Jackets look like they forgot to show up tonight. Rare to see a team not get up for a game against the Wings, let alone a division rival.
-
Win, Boll. Kind of a senseless fight, both from a game perspective (up 2-0, no need to give them a chance at a spark) and May's health (with the injury, save the fight for when your team needs it, not the other team). But I will not complain about seeing a fight in a Wings game.

The NHL's top secret flow chart for handing out suspensions

Don't. He wasn't good enough, either. The team was bad all over the ice. Nobody should be let off the hook for tonight's game.
-
Well, lost in all this is the fact the Leafs played a good game. The goalie was lights out and the team really galvanized once they had a lead to protect. They blocked a hundred shots and their PP was very sharp. Credit where it's due.

Glad to see people haven't forgotten the Quincey trade. I distinctly remember some esteemed members of this board arguing that moving Quincey was the right move because he wouldn't see ice time with the Wings anyway. Really?
-
Elliotte Friedman with an awesome question right now for Draper: "You guys had thought you really turned things around and started playing well. What happened that caused everything to unravel tonight?"
-
You have to keep in mind that as bad as Toronto's record is, the team isn't really that bad. They have a decent roster that shouldn't have 2 wins right now. They haven't been able to catch a break so far, but in the course of an 82 game season, the bad luck is bound to turn around. It's turning around tonight.
-
Anyone looking for a scapegoat should at least consider Draper. He's a team-worst -3 so far and just took a stupid penalty.
-
Soft? Did you see the injury? His leg bent at an anatomically impossible angle.
-
Ouch. I hope Willy is okay. That looked excruciating.
-
If you don't try really hard, bad things will happen, especially against a team that is desperate.
-
Exactly.

I'm getting the HD feed but I'm watching on WOW.

I hope my forecast that the Wings would let down for this game doesn't pan out.

Canadian players, even a couple fans in Leafs sweaters, singing along with the U.S. anthem. Awesome. Hats off to you, Toronto. CLASS.

Again, AGAIN, people don't have as much money to spend. Even in affluent cities, a hockey game is a luxury and often an expensive one. In lean times, those are the costs families cut out first. It's sad what's happening in Phoenix. I feel for the die hards. It sucks that they could lose their team.

The Sharks were playing tired and they got kind of short shrift on the non-whistle when Z scored, but them's the breaks. The Wings carried the play for most of the game and flat out dominated the OT. If Bert could finish, he'd be unstoppable, but the guy can't buy a goal. Ozzie's 1 GA was a softie but he was nails the rest of the game and in the shootout. Good to see the Wings' best players be their best players tonight. Onward and upward in the standings. I have a sneaking suspicion they'll lay an egg against the Leafs, but they've beaten some good teams. Shootout wins don't feel like real wins, but Detroit played well enough that 2 points feel about right for this game.

I can't stand the little f**ker. I like seeing him hit hard and often. I'll always have a man-crush on Hordichuk for punching him into the ice a couple years ago. But I like villains, so I'm glad he's in the league continuing to be a sh** disturber.

Of course. It's okay to hate a player just for being good and on another team. People take this stuff more seriously than I do, I guess.
