Cleary! Beautiful!
-
Zetterberg with the puck. Skates into the zone along the boards. Two defenders on him, he gets sandwiched into the glass. One of the defenders takes the puck and begins the rush up the ice. Rinse and repeat. Sound familiar?
-
The ice surface is usually crappy here and tonight seems like no exception. You wonder if even Meech's injury would have happened if the ice was better.
-
Either Zetterberg is injured or his confidence is shot. And cripes, Ozzie, you gotta stop that puck. Come on.
-
Soooo close on some of these chances.
-
Huds! Not really the play that you'd expect to score on, but they had it coming the way they controlled the play leading up to it.

Wings got what they deserved tonight. Stuart-Kronwall pairing and the 4th line were tough to watch. Ouch.
-
The Wings have nothing left in the tank. They can't even get the puck in the offensive zone.
-
Stars are sitting back now. Ripe for a PP goal, too!
-
Well I'm assuming the team had the time of their lives last night out on the town in Dallas. This is like watching a Timbits defensive unit against an NHL team!
-
Man, oh man. There's a time for stick-handling and soft passes and then there's a time for RINGING ONE OFF THE GLASS AND OUT! Gah.
-
Oh fer cryin' out loud. What a brutal shift.
-
What VS feed are you getting? The one I'm watching is very fair-handed and praising the Wings plenty. Great goal, Dats!
-
Nice, Hank!
-
A fresh start to the 3rd would be nice, too bad it has to begin with almost 4 minutes of PK. If the Wings can kill that double-minor, they should have lots of momentum.
-
By the way, the color analyst famous for his colorful adjectives is Daryl Reaugh, who's actually the regular analyst for the Dallas Stars but sometimes does the national games on VS. He's hilarious!
-
It would take an act of God for the Wings to win this game. Brutal.
-
well that was easy to see coming.
-
Sleepwalking.

The Stars are really taking it to the Red Wings right now. The boys need to find an edge and tilt the ice back the other way.
-
Well, I would. But then again, I'm of the opinion that Brodeur is ridiculously overrated. I don't think Osgood will make the HHOF because I don't think enough of the people who have a vote will agree that he's worthy of it. Whether any of us thinks he is or not is besides the point. Ultimately, he's never been considered one of the best goaltenders in any given season. There's something to be said for longevity and performance over time, but I don't think he has enough respect from people around hockey to get in.
-
Man, three standing ovations for a first period goal! That gave me the chills. Passionate hockey fans, man.

Solid defensive effort by the Wings again. It's becoming routine now. Just a month ago, we were all concerned that the team wasn't getting the team defense or goaltending needed to win at the highest level. Well, they're getting both now. Conklin was solid and the odd man rushes against seem to be a thing of the past. Big credit to the Sabres for doing the best job I've seen all season of keeping Datsyuk from doing what he wanted. Despite the rubber Miller faced, I thought the Sabres kept Detroit away from the sweet spots on the ice in general. They blocked a lot of shots and protected the crease well. And Miller came up big, too. But if you allow your goalie to face 40 shots, you obviously aren't in great shape to win the game.
