11/24 GDT: Blue Jackets 3, Red Wings 2 (SO)

Oh, definitely. The team looks like it's suffering from some kind of holiday hangover. Things could be much worse.

Good solid tie. After being down 2-0, I'll take it.

Wings aren't working hard enough. Nobody's going to the net.

Redirected or not, goalie has to stop that. Wings can't continue to hold teams to 6 or 7 shot periods and allow 2 goals.

Anyone else think Gordie Howe is a little money hungry?

They worked in the summer, not during the regular season. But my point is that these guys weren't getting rich playing hockey. The players were at the mercy of the team owners, which is what led Ted Lindsay to form the NHLPA. Yeah, the nerve of the guy seeking money. If he'd just ignore his wife, he could do things the noble way, doing everything for free. I suggest you try that some time. Let me know how it goes.

Anyone else think Gordie Howe is a little money hungry?

Hockey players who played back in Gordie's heyday made so little money playing hockey that they had to hold other jobs to make a living. It wasn't glamorous back then to be an NHL hockey player. No, I don't think he's money hungry. If anything, players from that generation paid more dues to be NHL hockey players than any of the current players do. I wouldn't deny them anything they can get, and I'd gladly pay the money.

    Dom Bashers Welcome!

I cheer for the goalie in net, doesn't matter who it is. Front of the jersey, not the back, motherf**kers. That's how I roll.

    11/22 GDT: Predators 3, Red Wings 2

Schedule loss. Wings didn't want to play this game.

Is that the Wings' first shutout this year? Good for Ozzie.

I want more goals. Go all Patriots on 'em and run up the score.

Attaboy! That's a big goal. The Blues will get makeup calls soon, very one-sided in favor of Detroit so far. And deservedly so, based on the play on the ice, but that's how the league works.

Gotta get a goal here, the Blues will start getting the calls soon.

    Ducks Extend Getzlaf

Good move for the Ducks, Burke gets it done as usual.

    East All-Star Voting

Hehehe. You press the voting button and if you didn't vote for him, one of your forwards changes to Crosby just before it sends.

Keating is lazy and he sucks

He leans way too close into the players when he's interviewing them during intermission. For some reason, I get the feeling he has bad breath. People who get too close to you when they talk to you almost always do.

    Dom Bashers Welcome!

I wouldn't discount the possibility the Wings keep their options open about acquiring a starting goaltender via trade if they're not satisfied with their goaltending by the time February rolls around. Holland mentioned the possibility himself at the start of last season, citing Edmonton's playoff run after picking up Roloson at the trade deadline.

    When will the Wings fall?

As long as Mike Ilitch can throw enough money at Jim Nill to keep him from taking some other team's GM position, the Wings should remain a good team.

    Dom Bashers Welcome!

The coach still says Hasek is the #1 goalie.

    Atlanta Braves Syndrom

Since no other team has won more Stanley Cups during that time period, it means the Red Wings have been the most successful team in the NHL for the past 15 years. It's hard to complain about that (although people here do all the time).
